Call me twisted, but I've been buying them just because of the Trek connection. Do I like the actual figures design wise...hell no. Am I a huge fan of the new cast and film...hell no.

I do have to admit they did a nice job on the alien critters and Keenser. They told me a the next wave would have a new Kirk head sculpt, but it looks the same to me in the pictures.

I'm really wondering why offer both 3 3/4" and 6" figures? Which sold better?

In my area neither sold. I spoke with a Playmates rep a couple weeks ago though and she said the 3 3/4 figures were the most popular.

                  you're Twisted

if you love the film love it but don't waste money on toys you don't like so long as they can turn a profit playmates will keep renewing the license. Imagine if they didn't and doc could get a wider licnese to new material for megolike ST TNG or new film figs

Agreed. As god awful as these are, they really should have released all the characters in the first wave in standard uni's. I am not fan of when these lines release figures in uni's that are not like they appear in reality. I don't if it's part of the collection as long as we see the standard uni's too.

Another thing I am not a fan of is the production of figures ( Like Batman Figures ) In neons , Oranges, and non batman like costumes. ...... LOL

                      Maybe it's just me. ......LOL

They really are, They are better suited for cartoony lines like TMNT, Dick Tracy, and so on. Leave the other properties to Hasbro, and Mattel. I heard somewhere this line was picked up to try and get a foot back in the industry. Looks like the failed miserably...... The only thing I seen thus far that looks decent is the Electronic Enterprise.

I like the large figures okay. The smaller figures are good for kids which I suspect are the ones buying them. I'm glad if they are.

The large are $50 around here and nobody is touching them. It's weird to be geeked out so much by a movie you want to buy it's merchandise until you see it.

Something things can be so ugly, they transcend into beauty.

Therefore, I find these figures absolutely sublime....
