You are 100 percent correct.

I don't really know what to say short of a VERY LONG essay on
why I collect what I collect just in general.

I think one main point is that most of my DC collecting budget
goes towards my Megoesque customs collection...but that's just a small
part of my...ahem...essay

In spite of not knowing exactly what to say here...I WILL say that
this line is hard for me to wrap my brain around.

I'm not sure how many of the figures I really want.
See, I'm a huge fan of the Timm/Dini shows but don't need every
character that's been made based on their shows.

And also, I don't want to get stuck with too many doubles
by buying the packs that have GRODD and other exclusives
that I really need to have in my collection.

If I DO get doubles, I'd prefer to be stuck with them cheaply
by buying larger loose lots on ebay...but heck knows if I'll
even have that opportunity?

I'll tell ya...the GIGANTA two-pack looks great for me to start...
it's an exclusive of a character that I really want---
and the large figure is real unique to the line.

This was another reason why I was glad to stop collecting the line. Everytime I wanted a new figure I would have to buy a 3-pack and get stuck with another 2 doubles. The singles never made it to my area other than once when I was able to pick up a Steel and Supergirl single at a TRU 50 minutes away from where I live.

The "essay"? It's based on that mindset. I didn't even BEGIN to write it

Well...I do...

...and it's about 30-40 figures from this JLU line and connecting
lines to it, dating back to the B:TAS stuff.

Not sure I get it....you're an admitted fan, love the line and the character selection and yet haven't pulled the trigger on ONE figure now that the line seems to be winding down??? What th' hell ya waitin' for?

In all seriousness there's not that many characters I want that
they HAVEN'T made. I mentioned TOYMAN (who they SHOULD have made
in the S:TAS line along with the Myx they never made) and DEVIL RAY
----I'm not sure who is missing out of the ones I still want.

The ones I want that they end up NOT making---a few customs will
fill in the gaps nicely.

I wish I could find all the characters I want in single packs, but they never show up here. I save my doubles for the occasional custom. I give the rest to my nephew or my friends' children. I think it's pretty cool that they're making Amanda Waller.
What does tick me off about the JLU line is that they don't stand well on their own and the legs have a tendency to bow and bend. For some of them, stands solve the problem, but many don't have peg holes in their feet. Yes, I know I can drill them in. And then I buy a three-pack of figures with only one stand. But never fear, they're offering packs of stands on MattyCollector.com. I really don't want to buy something that should have come with the figure in the first place, but I also want to display the figures I have, even if I would put my foot down and stop supporting this line.

Yeah, it's kind of like I've spent too much time and money on this line to give it up now, so I feel like I'm stuck buying the stands, at least for the ones I already have.

Thanks---that's going to be a key figure for me. I love her few appearances
especially the SECRET SOCIETY episode. (The one with that as the actual
title and GRODD, CLAYFACE, SINESTRO, PARASITE, SHADE and GIGANTA
also in there)
