Retro GI Joe at Walmart again

Noticed today we had new retro 12" Gi joes (Marine, sailor etc) in vintage boxes.

They also had vintage assesory packs. I saw the Winter gear and survival life raft ones.

When I was in Arizona last summer, I met a Hasbro rep who said they planned do to some of the accessory packs (diver in particular) but then it looked like the things were dead, and I just assumed the gal was probably just a merchandiser who talked too much.---Glad to see she knew of what she spoke. Now I just need an excuse to get to the US and pick some of this stuff up!!

I had heard they would be selling the 4 military branch Joes with an accessory for each as a big gift package. I haven't been able to find any yet

Yeah, I saw them and picked up the set. I took just one of each and then put the extras on a shelf and took the display box with me (The clerk let me have it). I figured at $10.00 a pop this would be my only chance to get them all, so I dove in.

They are not on the official "Mod" our version of planagrams. Ours were tucked by the regular 3 3/4 Gi joes but there is no price tag for them. Hence I dont think too many people know we even have them.

Note to everyone looking. I found mine on the top overstock shelves. It was not down on the regular shelves yet. I would look good too because they were sitting overtop of the peg board that holds the NFL figures (Hester, Romo, etc.). I suspect most collectors had failed to look there because there were three full displays just sitting there. Being 6'4 I could reach them all and picked through them to find the best samples. Fortunately there didn't really appear to be much difference. I didn't really see any signs of shipping damage. The weirdest part about this find was I didn't even know they were going to be out. I just looked up and said, "Holy $@!!" I always go into the "boys toys" row whenever me and the wife are on one of our weekly shopping errands. I learned a long time ago you just never know what your going to find.

I found 'em....on the bottom shelf..unmarked in the display box. The display box had all 4 figures (snagged 'em) and 3 accessory packs (snagged the frogman suit)...that was it.

Probably the same thing as the 40th anny sets out a few years ago, just missing the 40th anny words on the box and tags. I'm NOT rebuying these this time around.
