The Golden Age Paul Kirk (on Earth-1) was killed in th 40s but his body was preserved by some secret society (no not the SSOSV). He was resurrected during the 'Tec back-up and they started to make a bunch of clones of him. Supposedly he and his clones were all killed at the end of that run but one lived on and joined the SSOSV.

The whole "Manhunter" history is very interesting, what with all of the characters/backstory. I always wished they'd give it the scope it deserves...ala James Robinson's "Starman".

Frankly, they havent done a Neal Adams Batman...because of Neal Adams. The amount of money he wants from DCD to have his name associated with the figures is crazy.
Regaurding the Perez Bats...I think it's a pretty close look to Perez's Batman.....especially the head/mask. I love this figure!
Well, that makes sense about Adams.

I do like the Batman. And he is very Perez-like, reminds me of the Batman: Year Three and Lonely Place of Dying covers he did. I still have that portfolio, that's some beautiful stuff. Manhunter and Blue Devil look nice, but it's harder to see Perez there for me. GA doesn't look like George's take from the book, IMHO.

But I defer to your Perez expertise Mitch. You know his stuff better than just about anybody, save maybe Phil Jiminez!

And supposedly the current female Manhunter will be showing up in the Outsiders and eventually teaming up with another surviving Paul Kirk clone. Was the whole Earth 1 and 2 thing with Paul Kirk even addressed in Detective or elsewhere?

I think it could be a terrific line. I would like to see characters like the Doom Patrol or Challengers of the Unknown or even the Metal Men. Hopefully lesser unknown characters would be made, I did know how well they're sale but of course they will always put in a popular character in every series.

Not in the 70s. However I think Roy Thomas addressed this in the later issues of ALL-STAR SQUADRON when he showed various E-2 heroes making the jump to E-1.

I'm WAITING for the new Kid Flash sculpt, but the GA looks really good as well.

Might have to get him someday..

Wave 2 is The Creeper, Aquaman, The Flash and Black Lightning....

The Creeper and BL are new to DC Direct to my knowledge...There was a previous George Perez Barry Allen Flash as part of the Crisis line. Silver Age Aquaman has been done a few times.

There was also a Silver Age Flash in the Flash/Kid Flash 2-pack. And I believe that there was a Black Lightning in the recent JLofA Benes-inspired line.

Yeah I should have been more specific on Black Lightning...this is in his original costume (a first for DC Direct), not the most recent crap costume in the JLA/Benes line.

Aquaman? HOORAY!! And glad to hear of Black Lightning, too.

But per MegoCanada's suggestion above, DCD really needs to do the Doom Patrol, one of my absolute favorites. I have all of the DC Archives of the DP, and they are just terrific.

The Doom Patrol would be a nice set....and a quick-in-and-out if DC Direct doesn't want to continue past the original 4 (Cheif, Robotman, Elast-Girl and Negative Man). If they did continue with another wave I could see Mento/Beast Boy/Madame Rogue and Captain Zahl. And then later a Mssr. Mallah and Brain 2-pack.

Good suggestions, but I'd rather see Gen. Immortus than Zahl. And don't forget Garguax!

I vote for the red uniforms, BTW.

                                Man, these look nice.

I've been waiting for someone to make a good "classic" Batman (yellow circle, little test-tube thingies on the utility belt instead of pockets, etc.) - the closest I've seen is the repainted Jim Lee "Hush" design, but I like this one so much better, and it'll probably serve as the definitive pre-Crisis Batman figure since we're unlikely to get a Neal Adams version (unless they do a Jim Aparo figure).

I even like the not-strictly-speaking-accurate Green Arrow design - I may have to get all four of these!
