Oh, he's got some wear. The photo is just really good at covering it up.

The launcher has a crack in it, like many of them do. It's common damage. In addition, my one original sword's handle is broken. And he has a few deep scratches in his chest. He's definitely had some adventures, but it makes me love him all the more. It was fun to restore.

The knee stickers arrived yesterday, so I'm calling the restoration complete:

Next up is re-stickering my Raydeen, and the restoration will be complete (Tho Raydeen can use a few more delta wing missiles)

I had the Gai King (sp?) and he was a regular menace to the Wayne Foundation. As much fun as it was I can appreciate these massive fellows at a distance thankfully. These things can cause fatal reactions to bank accounts.

While i agree they can be expensive, I must stress that the restoration was more expensive than the figure, in literally all three of my cases.

            Raydeen was $20
            Mazinga was $25
Godzilla was $5. Yes, Five dollars. And I can prove it.

That’s great! I love bargains like that! Between the usual cost and the sheer size of the pieces I love these guys but I’m scared of touching one for the fear I would need to own them. They look great and I totally get wanting them.

First time I was in Tokyo, I went to the Winter Wonder Festival.

Medicom had a 24" vinyl Mechagodzilla. I could've afforded him the problem was how would I get him home?

I love to admire these from afar.
They look great, and would be awesome to own. But I have nowhere to keep them or display them. And my wallet would be screaming if I tried to collect them.
Especially since I am a bit of a completist, so it would really get expensive.

So, I have finished my 2023 restoration goal. All three of my Shoguns have been restored, and they look fantastic.

I finally got stickers for Raydeen, and he is looking incredible.

I will post pics tomorrow, as this will be my Day 9 Toyvember entry. But expect the same "As Found" "Before" and "After" pics as I did with Mazinga! He truly does look good. I'll also take a group shot!

                          Thanks.

Maybe I should track down a Dragun. I certainly don't wanna invest in the more expensive ones yet, and if I do, I want a Rodan.

Thank you, and i agree! A Night and Day transformation.

These guys likely haven't looked this good since the 70s, and while they do have some scuffs, and wear, I like 'em that way.

But they're now very nice display pieces, not just things I walk around in my toy room.
