March 77 back to the pre cable days when tv's had knobs and dads changed the channels from the sofa by making the kid or mom to get up and change the channel Back when sat morning was the best day to watch tv
Every time I think cartoons really suck NOW; I think about when I was a kid. But I gotta say; even though shows way back then were repetitive, cheaply done and barely written; they DID have a LOT more surrealism than they do now. And I can appreciate that.
I've always wanted to make a tape (or I guess a disk, these days) of an episode of "Scooby Doo" (probably the pirate ghost one) and then fill the tape with ALL the priate ghost episodes from all the Scooby Doo clones and see how they compare.
I'm a little concerned about the Batman show having a character named "Lucky Pierre"... If anyone has heard that particular slang term you know what I mean. I'm curious if that is a risque joke or totally innocent... it WAS the 70's after all...

I shall be very proud and great.

not to meddle with my toys.

I woke up this morning with the "Harrigan" theme song stuck in my head, hadn't thought about that show in at least 20 years. Was this a Canadian show?
Look up, look waaaay up!
wait a minute, am I confusing Harrigan with "The Friendly Giant"?, dam! who was harrigan then? Now I gotta look up all these shows on YouTube, looks like I'm in for another unproductive day spent reliving my childhood
Boy this takes me back, God i remenber the awful Lost in space cartoon Pilot,.
On the ABC's saturday morning cartoon movie show. That where they dump old rejected cartoons . Like the munters cartoon, Tabiata and Adam cartoon spinoff from Bewitched,Oliver twist and so on.
Wow, that's a real blast from the past. Especially from also living in Southern Ontario, I recognize all the actual Buffalo, Toronto, etc. TV channel numbers too, so that's literally what the TV Guide would look like for me back then. Very cool to see again, thanks!
In my office I keep a TV Guide from May 7, 1977 (the cover has a funny article related to my employer). It covers the Boston area, but most of the shows are exactly the same and in the same time slots! Circle Square and C.U.C.U.M.B.E.R. are replaced with the public-TV fare of Big Blue Marble and Villa Alegre.
I just happened to notice that on Saturday evening at 6:30, Space: 1999 is on channel 10. The warrior Dorcons threaten to invade Alpha unless Maya (cCatherine Schell) is handed to them for use in their medical experiements. Matin Landau. Barbara Bain. (60 min.)
