Anything from the Dungeons and Dragons craze in the early 80s just never did anything for me; I was never bitten by that bug for some reason.
Also, as much as I loved pretty much anything Micronauts, the Aliens series (Antron, Repto, Membros, Lobros, Kronos and Centaurus) just didn't sit right with me for some reason. They just weren't Micronauts to me, even as foes for the standard Time Travelers, etc. I suppose you could have considered me a Micronauts Aliens bigot!
I wouldn't say that I hated them, but I really never had any strong interest in Hot Wheels or Matchbox vehicles, unless they were Fire or Super Hero related. Though, I did have a fair amount of all types. I think that my dad liked them, a lot. However, I did like a lot of what Corgi had to offer with their Batman vehicles, etc. And, I loved all of those super heroes on motorcycles.
A few years later, where Transformers and the like were concerned, I held no interest.
They were generally past my toy prime, but I never really liked Masters of the Universe toys and Transformers. Can't say even today I appreciate them anymore than I did back then.
I never was into Legos, only ever had 1 small set that was a gift. Micronauts never did anything for me either. I didn't really dislike MOTU, watched the show, but the new small G.I. Joes were getting my business that year and the next couple years.
I had 1 Transformer and wasn't impressed but it was at the end of my toy buying ((till adulthood anyway)) when they came out but I did watch the cartoon everyday and liked it.
OK, hold the pitchforks for a moment. I realize the utter blasphemy in that statement. I just really liked action figures with high levels of playability, which for me, meant articulation. When those stiff-armed, no knee bending little guys came out, they just didn't compare to Mego's 8" flexibility.
OK, I said it. I'll duck behind this dumpster while you throw things at me.
I won't throw anything, Ben, b/c I totally get it.
We grew up in the 12" GIJoe, Mego and Big Jim days. We played w/ action figures that fit in your hand, not between your fingers, had changable outfits and were poseable. In the mid to late 70s when the cost of oil to produce plastics went up, action figure size was cut down. I always felt sorry for the kids who grew up not know what it was like to play w/ the larger, cooler action figures. So I don't like Star Wars, mini puny GIJoe, Comic Action Heroes/Pocket Heroes or any of those things. To me, those just aren't action figures.
*ducks behind dumpster next to Ben* Hey! Who threw that tomato?

'Cos I believe, I believe that I do,
Yes, I can see I believe that it's magic
If your mission is magic your love will shine true."
I never cared for hot wheels or matchbox cars. boring!!!! otherwise I pretty much liked any and every action figure line until I outgrew that stuff, errrr.....temporarily at least
I was a toy snob, and I "hated" every generic rip-off of a popular line. So basically anything Remco did after 1980. There were a few exceptions, as I kinda gave Remco's Warlord line a pass, since it was based on a DC comic (although I never read Warlord, I knew it was a DC book), and I did the same for The Mighty Crusaders, even though they had an odd aesthetic mash-up of He-Man meets Super Powers meets bootleg.
All the other rip-off fantasy figures and wrestlers just bothered me. I could smell the cheapness a mile away. But nowadays, I think they are all pretty neat, and I appreciate them for their kitcshiness.

Wow, a Micronaut fan that didn't like the aliens?!?
I am more than machine. More than man. More than a fusion of the two.
Didn't have much interest in the Mego C.H.I.P.S. figures, or the LJN ones, or any female WGSH.
don't even recall watching any of those shows back in the day.
