Everybody must have a favorite package design or box art. Doesn't have to be an illustration, it can be a photo etc. A couple of faves of mine are the Big Jim "Baron the chauffer" and Big Jim "laser man" I don't really collect Big Jim but those packages are ust haves based on art alone. I really dig those old Ideal game boxes where they paint the photos of the family playing the game . The first couple of years of Gi Joe packaging is great. Also really like the original Capt. Action and Dr.evil photo boxs.

I really like the GIJoe Adventure Team boxes and the Action Jackson outfit packages artwork. I always wished Mego made trading cards or posters or shirts from these. They're so cool! (my fave is the secret agent)"Do you believe, you believe in magic?
'Cos I believe, I believe that I do,
Yes, I can see I believe that it's magic
If your mission is magic your love will shine true."Comment

There are many, like the SMDM, Airfix blue (and others) boxes, Star Wars vintage, POTA playsets and the french GI Joe called : "Action Joe". But my favourites illustrations maybe the ones for the Matchbox Superfast, Speed Kings, Battle Kings. I'd love to know who was (or who were) the illustrator(s) and have more sample of his (their) work.
Don't you think that kind of drawing brings the spirit of the 70's toys?Last edited by BaronSat; May 12, '08, 7:57 AM.Custom models :
