Also the Godzilla board game and that uber-cool Marx Dinosaur playset, which looks like something from a stop-motion movie.

Hopefully someone will get there who wants to keep the stuff and not look to sell and flip... It's not far from me but I don't think I'll be able to get there... Would love that Wayne foundation and lost continent. Good luck to whoever goes.Comment

I went, yes. It was a very interesting experience to say the least. I'm not the great guy who made the awesome score, but he is a fellow Museum member who made a 16 hour trek, thus deserved it! I'm glad to see some of the best stuff went to him.
As for my own experience, I got some pretty cool stuff. I was originally told that a sign-in sheet would be put on the day of the sale between 6-7 in the morning. But then Friday night I received an email at around 9:30PM announcing that sheet was being put out at 10:00PM that night! I read it at about 12:00 midnight. I just woke up from a small nap and decided to check it. Good thing I did, as my original plan was to show up at around 3:00AM. I rushed over there (little over an hour drive) and there was no sign in sheet. The certain Museum member (who's identity I did not know till later) who ventured out to NY told me the guy helping run the sale left with it and 14 names were already on it, So myself and a guy who showed up 2 hours after me decided to start a secondary sign-in sheet. He tried to put himself as 15, even though I was 15 and my father 16. I was sure to correct him. He then tried to do the same on the master sheet and again, I correct him. He managed to still get in side that house in my place anyway. How, I do not know. His good friend was 14, so somehow he slipped in while I was talking with people. It stinks as they let the first 15 in before letting more in, so I should have been in the first wave. My dad was waiting outside for over an hour and a half before they let more in. Which sucks even more, because that weasel should have been in his place.Comment

I'll post some pictures at another time. Nothing to really write home about, but some cool things. Still sorting, organizing and ID'ing stuff. This house had a LOT more than what the pictures shown. If there was anything in there I wish I could have grabbed, it was a boxed AD&D Fortress of Fangs. I also really wanted the Green Ghost game. Not a big ticket item I know, but I just really want one. I'm certain there was far more mind blowing stuff that people walked away with, but those are the things I would have been delighted to take home.
Apparently the person who these toys belonged to was a mentally handicapped man, a relative of the owner of the Estate Sale company. He had as they put it, "the mind of a child", so he constantly played with toys for the entire duration of his life. I heard he was the son of the people who lived there, but then I also heard he himself was 70 years old. So really, I am not too sure of what the story was exactly.Last edited by Den82; Apr 14, '13, 10:36 PM.Comment

Sounds like you did okay despite getting screwed over by a shifty line cutter. Someone pulled that on me during a Black Friday, and I made sure they were publicly shamed for it.Looking for Green Arrow accessories, Doctor Who Sonic Screwdriver, and Japanese Popy Megos (Battle Cossack and France, Battle of the Planets, Kamen Rider, Ultraman) and World Heroes figuresComment

Well, I was that fella who made the 16 hour trek to New York from Wisconsin. Seeing how many items were up for grabs, I just couldn't miss it. I took two friends with me and we got there at 11:30 Friday morning. We parked outside the sale for the next 24 hours. It was worth it. We were the first 3 people in the doors. It was simply amazing how much stuff was there. We grabbed a lot, but we couldn't grab it all.
I must say that meeting Den82 was great. Thanks again for telling us about this awesome sale. (Sorry that other guy screwed you over on your spot....)
I am posting a few pictures. I still have a lot of loose stuff to go over, but this is the major portion of the boxed stuff. I did also get the Wayne Foundation, however it was simply an empty box. The box had some water damage and was really not of much use to me. There was a guy who was there to try and get it. As I walked out with it, he asked if I would be willing to sell it. I did. We were both very happy. He is keeping it for his collection, so I am pleased it went to someone who would give it a good home.
This is a picture of thew three man army that went to New York. I am the guy in the middle. The toys in the background are some of my store inventory. We bought all of the toys on the tables and the floor.
It was near impossible to get a good picture of everything, so I am putting up multiple pictures.
I love, love, love this Blackstar piece!
Another shot that shows us fellas.

The only thing I am keeping is the CAH Exploding Bridge set. It's my first of the 3" set and since it is complete and unplayed with, I figured that was a great way to start. Everything is for sale. However, I need to be honest in saying, I have not been able to focus on selling here in the Museum, because I have been crazy busy the last 6 months. If anyone sees something they want, feel free to ask me about it, but don't get upset if I am slow.
