Get a load of THIS Estate Sale!

I'm sure some would say I am a dope for spreading the word, but I don't think it matters.

    LOOK at this:
View information about this sale in Howard Beach, NY. The sale starts Saturday, April 13. It is being run by Sisters In Charge Tag Sales.

In the 3 or so years I've attended Estate Sales heavily, this is by far the biggest one as far as what I buy goes. I hate to be intimidated, but I am actually thinking of not even bothering. It's only an hour drive. But I have a feeling no matter how early I go, there is going to be a massive amount of people and the overall atmosphere is going to be hectic. I would be a chump to sit this one out though.

If I was as close to this as you are there's no way I'd miss this. Just based on the Megos I saw in the photos alone I'd go.

yeah, but if you're not among the first 5-8 people in there, forget it. You'll just have to deal with the misery of seeing others walk away with it all and if you are among the first group they let in you have to worry about jerks, fights, etc.

In order to be in that first group, you got to get up SUPER early. Maybe not even sleep at all.

Prices are another thing. Who knows what the company will be asking for this stuff. I go to their sales often. They can be easy to deal with, but they do price according to completed eBay listings, but price stuff a bit below as they know most people who attend sales are resellers.

What stinks is most of the stuff I'd grab are big boxes and putting stuff down in a pile makes you run the risk of a jerk taking it.

That is the plan. But I heard they are taking a name list to get in which they will most likely put out the night before. So I could get there 3:00AM and find 40 people already signed it.

Looks good, but it does look like an estate of someone who liked to go to rummage/flea market sales to me, which isn't a bad thing either.

I'd risk it. There's a chance that everything there might not be in the pictures.

I'd love a shot at that radio king drum kit. That sort of looks like my storage area in my outbuilding at my old house. Not sure if I shoud be proud of that or not.

I'm not going to be able to stay away. It's going to be a tough one though, that is for sure. Even crappy Estate Sales recently have had these gigantic lines. A lot of new people are getting into this picking business.

Although I must say, I really hate it. The wear and tear on your body waking up crack of dawn, waiting on lines, fights, arguments, people pulling sleazy tactics (like family members creating barricades), high prices, etc.

That's just the tip of the iceberg too. I am not sure if toys like this bring out the people who camp over night, but I do know that happens. Sometimes a dealer will pay somebody to park outside over night or have friends grab items while they are outside. I even heard of dealers selling numbers.

Another thing that sucks is that you cannot take the time to inspect everything good to check for broken parts, missing parts, etc. One start doing that, things are just flying out around you. You can make a huge pile and then check it all when you are done, but I know for a fact people running Estate Sales get very *****y when you horde a pile of stuff and not buy it, because they know others in that house want that stuff too and sometimes leave thinking you're going to buy it.

The guy has an interesting collection of paperback books, including "The Complete Sex Dictionary" and "Your Erogenous Zones"

And according to the photos' dates, someone from the future took these pictures!

Good luck if you decide to attend.

I had the Rebound game and the Marble Head game. I'd be after those as well if I could go.
