I always remember that scene from All in the Family, too. I wanted these, but since my mom had gotten me the rock em sock em robots, she said I didn't need these. Lol.
I had these when I was a kid! My older brother took the bald head off and put it on one of his 12" GIJoes. It was the coolest GI Joe I had ever seen. It inspired me to begin customizing my toys, although I didn't seriously customize until I was much older.
