    Kar-a-a-ate Men!

I had honestly forgotten that the correct spelling of this toy isn't "Karate Men" but "Kar-a-a-ate Men" which is infinitely cooler. As much as I see this fun toy in the wild, I rarely see them in the box. The box gives me goosebumps, it really connects into Christmas morning 1975, where I really could have used a brother....

I love these! I have these! When I was a kid, I played w/ my cousin's set. I loved the GIJoe looking one, right down to the flocked hair. I even remember the ad, (another one I can't find on YouTube, darn it.) And even the announcer called it KAR-A-A-TE Men! These are a lot of fun, but they don't work great after all these years. It's REALLY hard to get a knock down, but the kids who come over like to play w/ it. 70s coolness!

Interesting that similar fighting figure sets like this still crop up every several years. Also odd that Aurora made these, since they are known for models and race tracks.

What a great toy. I never had this or a brother, but my memories of Christmas 1975 include playing with my sister and her Barbie Town House. That's almost as cool, right?
