Is it too late to imprison the people that cast these works of art?

That is all kinds of awesome. I think part of it also stems from the fact that the process has been refined over the years, and we get a closer approximation of the sculptor's true work now on most toy lines.
One thing that's always puzzled me...why does Remco's Phantom look a little heavy? Lon Chaney Sr. was not a heavy man at all. Now Jr. was a little thick, but Daddy was pretty slim.

^Not heavy, but with some pronounced features of middle-age that you can see from make-up to make-up, and which are often exaggerated in Phantom sculpts. Chaney Sr., though was quite fit compared to his son, although Creighton was much taller.
Those "original" casts are awesome, btw--thanks so much for sharing! One of my favorite lines ever.WANTED: Dick Grayson SI trousers; gray AJ Mustang horse; vintage RC Batman (Bruce Wayne) head; minty Wolfman tights; mint Black Knight sword; minty Launcelot boots; Lion Rock (pale) Dracula & Mummy heads; Lion Rock Franky squared boots; Wayne Foundation blue furniture; Flash Gordon/Ming (10") unbroken holsters; CHiPs gloved arms; POTA T2 tan body; CTVT/vintage Friar Tuck robes, BBP TZ Burgess Meredith glasses.Comment

These make me wonder how detail is routinely lost in the final production run (at least back in the 70's). Just look at the detail lost between the original Superman sculpt and the final product-

That would have been funnier if I knew how to attach the pics in the proper size. Seriously, these are uber cool and do really give insight into the process.
This isn't the first time these companies have messed with me. Back in the early 80s I created a line of fecal teddy bears. Not only did my bears care, they gave a s**t! ...I'm sorry, what were we talking about? lolComment

EDIT: I just noticed if you go here, click on the picture and then when it pops up hit the right arrow, it'll take you to the next picture which is identical to the one posted. I thought it looked familiar!Comment

I'm pretty sure that first pic of Supes is the DC Direct 13" version that came with the Clark Kent suit. Compare it to the figure on the left in this picture. The head is also separate from the neck, unlike the Basa which has the head and neck in one piece like a Mego.
I just love it, when others make fun of my mistakes.
Thanks Wee67. Just remember, if you make fun of dr_cyclops, he will do everything he can to help.Comment

Yes it is. I'm pretty sure Wee67 was making fun of my mistake. I feel so foolish. The thread title clearly states 'Prototype' and I assumed these two were originals.
