Bumping this thread because I went back today and bought some more stuff. This fella has an unbelievable amount of stuff in his garage and shed--just a bigtime hoarder. Anyway, was hoping to find the GI Joe figs this time around and he can't find them. I did wind up with a rather large lot of Dino Riders stuff. I mean A BUNCH. All mint/unplayed with. Pretty cool line. Also snagged one Battle Beasts item--he said he's got a bunch of that stuff too! I'll being hitting him up from time to time.....

They arent meant to be bashed together
I think some of them may erode in the joints over time.Leave a comment:

I have a bunch of the old transformers but I never really played with them because they were too damn delicate (unlike G.I. Joe figures)Leave a comment:

Most of the vintage transformers you find today are damaged or missing parts , so that's a great findLeave a comment:

Can't agree. Even though I love Transformers (mostly the first 2-3 years), it's hard finding them in good shape. They got worn out easily and they typically have broken parts, loose joints, decal wear, etc.
I'm lucky to have found some great ones over the years.Leave a comment:

Thought this would be interesting: Take the price of a transformer from here (like page 438 in the 1985 catalog) http://www.wishbookweb.com/1985_SearsWishbook/index.htm and convert its cost from here: http://www.davemanuel.com/inflation-calculator.php
Example: A Grimlock in 1985 was $12.99. If Grimlock was released now it would cost $27.70.
$1 of 1985 dollars would be worth: $2.13 in 2012 (When adding in inflation)
I just found that interesting and wanted to share, lol.Leave a comment:

I still kick myself for selling most of my G1s at a yard sale a year or so after I gave up playing with toys...

Thats for sure. Once I stopped collecting toys around '88 I still didnt want to let the G1's go. Hard to be a original TF's collector now, it takes a good bit of money. They arent made nearly as well as back then.
You made a really good score with all these. Hope to see more.Leave a comment:

Transformers were kind of like the Cadilac of 80s toys. They were a bit expensive (except for the mini-bots) but if you saved up your allowance, you knew you were putting your money into a really sturdy toy with lots of play value.

Y'know I gotta admit that I'm not up on 80s toys at all BUT I can totally understand why Transformers are so heavily desired and collected--easily the best made toys outta all of these. Nice design, nice heavy weight, just overall fantastic quality for a kid's toy......Leave a comment:

I was going to say "Sharkticon". I had him as a kid and forgot he had a name!
