I would love to see some detail pix of the mass-market Sea Fury playset.

did Peg Leg have something on the bottom of the peg? i checked other auctions but none have a bottom piece. the stump is shorted than his other leg. the map is still there but crammed so far up it isn't ever coming out short of breaking the peg.
      Hi Nostalgiabuff,

Well, the Fighting Furies were not as resistant as today's Max Steel figures but poorly made I think it's too much to say. Anyway, yes, the Cap'n Peg-Leg comes with a bit that closes the map compartment. This "bit" can get pretty expensive if you try to find it online.

Now, I thought the Fighting Furies fans here will get a kick out of these pictures:

American ad for the Fighting Furies pirates:

      Some German ad:

Here's a shot of the German Matchbox catalog with the two lines shown:

And the last one is a very rare picture of the prototypes for the figures and Sea Fury ship:

This other ad shows Mason Reese holding the prototype figures (They were pretty cool!).

You all have a great Friday!

Well, it all depends on how much use, as it happens with any toy. I have used FF figures that are extremely loose, as well as some others that still have their elbows, shoulders, etc still firm.

I don't have the Ship. And $20 sounds pretty optimistic. As a matter of fact that's the reason why I haven't had a chance to have one.

Good luck with your collection, pal, and don't forget to share some pictures of it!

Was checking my old external tonight and come up with a couple of pictures you might want to have a look at. That's the original box of the "Sea Fury" and some stills from a 1974 Mason Reese's Fighting Furies TV ad for the "KungFu Adventure" set.

But have a closer look at the FF figures. At least two are broken, but arranged "artistically" so you have a hard time noticing, especially with the poor pics.

This dealer has ripped me off twice now. Even though his shop is in my home town, I'd rather eat an asbestos sandwich than go there again.
Guess what. I was the guy stupid enough to buy this auction. I learned about FF about 2 hours before I bid on this lot. I also didn't make a note that they were slightly taller than Mego. They looked SUPER cool to me. I did come upon it with not much time left. About 20 minutes. I figured I didn't have enough time to email the seller. All I thought was, "hey- only $50 bucks"- or whatever it was at the time... I saw a Glow in the Dark Ghost of Captain Kid. That was enough for me.... The description stated "in played with condition".... I guess the Belguim to English translation for this seller of "played with" means "broken!".... It was my fault. I bid with not much time to go. I figured it was a steal. Even though I didn't email the seller for more details first, I still felt ripped off.... it ended up being about $116.00 if I recall....I had some disposable income at the time.... I bid using my iPhone... Didn't notice shipping.... A HUGE mistake on my part..... Live & learn....There was an AHI Werewolf at the same time that I passed on in favor of this auction! What a mistake.....Anyway, I repaired a couple of the figures.... The ghost of captain kid is repairable if someone is handy with super glue.... I'll sell what I repaired to make up for the loss... Cheap... Pm me if interested.... You'll get a screaming deal....

Well Im still searching for a nice boxed version of this one, and was doing some "hidden auction" search, and thought someone might be interested in this, just missing the pole and sail.
