I have seen that. The pirates were available in the States, no problem, but the Western line of Fighting Furies figures, released by Matchbox/Lesney two or three years later (1976) was never available in the USA. Hence, the black stamp over the western figures in the catalogs that were distributed in the States. And that's the reason why you can only get these figures from European vintage toy sellers (Sadly).

I absolutely loved the Furies line as a kid. Tons of cool outfits and accessories. They are a little big for megos, but only barley. The FF bodies seem have particularly loose joints, and thus don't stand up to well on their own, but man I still really like them. One of my favorite toy lines. I've only had the pirates, but would love to beef up that aspect of my collection.

^Yeah, with only one West fig, it's not worth it for me.

Shipping for such a lot across the pond is quite normal. Thomas and I pay that all the time. Probably because we're crazy...
But have a closer look at the FF figures. At least two are broken, but arranged "artistically" so you have a hard time noticing, especially with the poor pics.

This dealer has ripped me off twice now. Even though his shop is in my home town, I'd rather eat an asbestos sandwich than go there again.

When I was a kid I had the pirate ship and a couple of the pirates, for the longest time I knew nothing of the treasure map hidden in the peg leg, when I stumbled on that it was like another Christmas present. I thought that was really cool.
My posts were needlessly deleted ...

Peg Leg was my first ever action figure. My Dad said it was a doll, and that he'd cut off my allowance if I ever bought one again. I then bought a Lone Ranger.
It took decades for my Dad to understand my passion.

I still have a great fondness for the Furies. Peg Leg, Hook and Kidd take a place of honor in my living room display case.

I was bidding on that one, although my bids ended up WAY below the final $71 price.

The lot was not worth such sum because the two valuable figures were broken (Capn Kidd and Crazy Horse). The three Capn Hooks in the lot are the ones in good condition, but they're incomplete and not hard to find in better conditions for much less money.

From the extra parts included I can see a few interesting items, like some Western clothes (Black McCoy pants and belt, Crazy Horse top and pants, and Kid Cortez's pants and boots) but most of it is pirates stuff, which is not expensive or hard to find. Mention apart deserves the original Crazy Horse leaflet. Now that would be something to have!

Anyway, it's great to have a chance to talk about the Fighting Furies. One of the most extraordinary line of toys ever!

You all have a good Monday!

Thought you'd be thrilled to watch the mid 70's commercial for the Fighting Furies that was shown in Spain.

Here's something that really surprised me when I discovered it a couple of months ago: the European booklets for these figures are different than the ones that were sold in the United States, and so are certain areas of the boxes. Have a look at the pictures. Here's the "HOOK" (American version) and "Cap'n Hook" (European version) example:

I recently got a pegleg leg in a loose parts lot at a flea market. looked at the line again and it is pretty cool so I just got an auction on ebay for 9.99, whihc inlcuded hook, peg leg and various parts. waiting for it to get here to go through everything
                              .
the leg I had gotten did still have the map rolled up in it too....unfortunately had to break the peg in order to get the damn thing out. leg was in poor shape anyway so no great loss there

this is the auction i just got. Pretty nice shape but the shouler and sword arms are a bit loose. I never had these as a kid so have no basis but they seem to be pretty poorly made overall. a lot of cool accessories though

did Peg Leg have something on the bottom of the peg? i checked other auctions but none have a bottom piece. the stump is shorted than his other leg. the map is still there but crammed so far up it isn't ever coming out short of breaking the peg.
