A lot of my toys were stolen and/or vandalized when some older kids broke into our house one year. If I have much of anything in the way of those items they're replacements... though I was able to buy-back a few SW Jawa figures that I'm pretty sure were mine from a local book and record second hand store.
The Jawas were a big deal because they were impossible to find when they came out, and my older sister and family had gone around asking various grocery store clerks and just about anyone in a shop to check the back for them until they happened to find six or so, and brought them home as a surprise along with a Droid Factory... My head just about popped off from excitement.

One of two things I have besides those are a ceramic Brontosaurus that's painted up brown and black like a beagle, which I've had since before I can remember not having it. It's survived break ins, moves and various natural disasters.
The other is a Parker Brother's Little Noddy's Taxi Game board game from 1956. It has silver paper coated press-board nickels and colored plaster playing pieces. My sister and I used to play that all the time. It's fairly rare, and over the years I've had to tape the box-top edges back together to keep it in one piece.

I didn't keep a lot, because anything that we stopped playing with was handed down to our cousins or to family friends with younger kids. I still have my original She Ra, Gizmo from Gremlins, and my Little Orphan Annie doll.

        Hmmmm....

I still have a bunch of Playmobil figures; including a space cop I’ve had since I was a kid. (He’s my favourite, even though he’s missing a lot of parts and is carrying a He-Man gun.) I had a friend during university who’d pick up the “Playmobil Special” figures for me each year. (I don’t know where she found them.)

Funny thing; most of them still have brains. Playmobil hair pops off so’s you can put some of the accessories on, and I’d fill the head with red rubber bands, for brains. (Or green if they were undead or bad guys.) WAY back when, I discovered that Magic Sand mixed with Testors enamel created a paste that never dried. So I painted the heads of a few generic Playmo guys with it, floated them in shopping bags full of water and froze ‘em. That winter I peeled off the bag and set the icebergs with frozen Playmo guys in the yard. For weeks we had crews from the city in the basement slowly chip the frozen guys free.... unfortunately the silver sheen was symptomatic of a horrible plague that turned Playmo people into brain munching zombies. They’d attack the townsfolk and eat their brains; at which point a coat of silver goo would be applied and a new zombie was born. This went on for a couple months, (I had a LOT of Playmobil figures, and the city was pretty big.) until a cure was found. It required new brains and a paper towel to wipe off the silver.

Sometimes I really wonder why the other kids thought I was weird....

Only one item survived from my childhood and is still with me. I got this little ceremic turtle from some cheesy seaport giftshop when I was 10. 37 years later he's still with me. I don't know how or why of all the things I have had this one continues to remain with me. It's actually kind of bittersweet when I think about it. But he is kinda cute.

Nothing!!! I kept my toys in the best condition possible. We were'nt well off so we made our toys last. They were in such good condition. My parents suggested I pass it on to my cousin. He destroyed them in less than 4 months. My old GI Joes disappeared in action. Later found out my older brothers used them for demolition practice w/ M80's. My old man had no issue about it all. Till I showed him what my old toys were bringing down.

I asked my mom if she still had these roller skates that I spent hours on, and she thinks they've been tossed. Oh well...they never fit me anyway and never will since my dad bought them large so I could grow into them.

Kept nothing, and now am having mid life crisis and re-acquiring it all:

Purchased about 30 MEGO's / Thundershift 500 Hot Wheel track / Johnny West / 1964 GI Joe Action Soldier / King Aurthur's Castle

Why...why...why did I get rid of it all, still have good memories of so many other items, and will slowly get them all.

The toy I've had the longest is plush Godzilla from the 70s Hanna-Barbera cartoon. Got it at a Kaybee when I was little.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

None of my original Megos survived because my Megos were robbed when they broke into my parents home and stole our stuff......

My second wave of Collecting started with the Superpowers line when they came out and I still have to this day.......

My mego Spider-man, thanks to "donations" from other childhood Megos when he got broken. head/outfit and various parts to my Dr. McCoy. My friends' childhood Shazam (that we both played with) that I purchased from him when we were teenagers. Except for a small portion I foolishly sold in my twenties. most of my original Star Wars figures and vehicles. I've always said if my house was on fire the two things I'd grab were the Spidey and the carrying case containing the original Star Wars figures as those two things are irreplacable to me.

My Star Trek bridge set with Kirk, McCoy, Spock, Uhura, and the Klingon. In the past few years I've added some more aliens (plus a bunch of da*n dirty apes!), but I still hold on to those five from my childhood, JOHN
