    Captain Action Lives!.... again

My apologies if this is the wrong section, Mods feel free to redirect it if you need to.

Well, after the Playing Mantis 90's revival falling to the wayside, Captain Action Enterprises has brought him back in comics [via Moonstone Comics], 8" figures [via castaway Toys], but now? Now he returns as he was meant to be!
    Here is the forthcoming prototype:

Love the new head sculpt update! A definite improvement over the Playing Mantis version. Looking forward to this. Can't wait to see the actual costume sets!

Well, to be fair to PM, they were only reusing the original head.

I don't know what generation mold was used on the PM figure, but the facial details were so soft, it caused the figure to loose a lot of the likeness that made the original work. I appreciate what Playing Mantis did though. I have them all. I've enjoyed Castaways 8 inch take on the license and will be thrilled to see the 12 inch line back in action with the Marvel heroes. That will be very cool.

Wow I really like that...much more than the original face.

That is fantastic. Great update. Thanks for posting this.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

I guess Captain Action is cool himself, but the dressing him up as other characters gimmick is just stupid to me. This figure looks nice in and of itself.

Well, you have to understand the concept of Captain Action-- he was and is a master of disguise!

Love the headsculpt. He looks so heroic! I hope that the costumes can be used w/ the PM version.

The new head sculpt does indeed look nice and since it is new I'll have to buy him when he comes out because had he looked like the original again, which, mind you, I am perfectly fine with, I'd have...well, not enough reason (extra accessories aside) to buy him again...I think.

Yeah, I get it. But the concept of playing with a figure of a guy dressed up as the hero I like pales in comparison to having a figure of the hero I like.

I like Captain Action as Captain Action, but never went for the disguise gimmick.

This is actually produced by Round 2, which is really Playing Mantis too.

But I agree, much better head sculpt this time around.

However, I still have each kit from PM's first round of dong this... not so sure I'll jump in again. After I see the Iron Man set I'll know for sure.

                            Regards,

                            Geoff

I like the new headsculpt (or is it just a new paint scheme on the old sculpt?). It keeps the Captain's look but addresses some of the complaints leveled against him over the years. He doesn't look worried anymore, just determined!
