Your too funny Hardygirl! You would have really laughed though if you could have seen my face when I heard the price. It was interesting too, because at first I wasn't going to ask. I figured he would want a lot for it. But this vendor had TONS of stuff and this was off to the side in a banged up box, so I thought I should go ahead and "amuse" myself with a simple inquiry. What were the odds he wouldn't know the SMDM was back in vogue? Apparently he didn't get the memo. When he said $40.00, I had to pick my eyeballs off the floor. But then I asked "Is it complete?" I thought there had to be a catch. There wasn't. He said he thought most everything was there. After about one minute of looking at the essentials I looked up from the box and simply said, "You have a sell." He was a cool dude and patted me on the back when I paid him. He said, "Enjoy." And enjoy I have.

Like I like to say, "A closed mouth don't get fed". You have to ask, and aren't you glad you did? (I still hate you, though! )

Very nice score. It's a pretty cool piece. I have one for Chris in my cellar I'll be delivering to the Meet in June.
It's not a doll it's an action figure.

Congrats, that's a great find. That playset has a beautiful design, I wish Kenner made more sets like that.
Maybe one day we'll have new SMDM toys, as it happened to many vintage toy lines and new sets too?

And BTW I think like Lady Zod, that Steve pic on the wall is weird idea!

Now that I think about it, I'm surprised I never got Oscar. I'm assuming he was one of the close-out shelf warmers when the line ended.

Great find! I still cherish mine, even though it has bad memories associated with it. I peeked in the living room late Christmas Eve to see Mom wrapping this up. I snuck back to bed, somewhat confused. I finally decided this gift was from mom and Dad, but on christmas morning the tag said from Santa, and I knew the claus man was a fake! I kept it to myself, but I was sure disappointed!!

The playset itself is great though, especially when all the electrical stuff is set up. Always had trouble with the wall safe alarm though. It always went off at the slightest bump. It also kinda bugged me that the window drawing on the outside didnt match the window on the inside. (Its a bit smaller)

Yeah, I saw that picture and snickered pretty good. We can be thankful Oscar didn't have THAT one hanging on his office wall. Otherwise people would REALLY be talking.

It is a really cool playset. Always wanted one as a kid and finally got an almost complete one (with box) on eBay at a decent price a few years ago. It's just missing the floor, the bottom part of the chair and the telephone receiver.

I do have a question for the Bionic experts. Are both of the "filmstrips" supposed to be the same? My set came with two that are identical.

I checked mine and most of the graphics are the same, except one has a picture of Oscar Goldman on it and the other has Steve Austin . The other graphics appear to be the same, but in different order.

Yeah, your right. Between my loose and boxed stuff, it's pretty descent. Nothing like Karen's, of course, but fun. I've always wanted to take my Biosonic SMDM and make a short film of him mixing one of my protein drinks. I'm telling you, THAT arm can do some serious damage when you start cranking it. Most people don't know it, but the Biosonic figure has no button on the back. It swings around in a karate chop by rotating his other arm. What's funny though is when you raise the arm out to the side (in a wing pose) and start cranking his left arm, it spins with some good velocity to it. It's a wonder kids didn't knock themselves out with it.
