I've always wanted to take my Biosonic SMDM and make a short film of him mixing one of my protein drinks. I'm telling you, THAT arm can do some serious damage when you start cranking it. Most people don't know it, but the Biosonic figure has no button on back. It swings around in a karate chop by rotating his other arm. What's funny though is when you raise the arm out to the side (in a wing pose) and start cranking his left arm, it spins with some good velocity to it. It's a wonder kids didn't knock themselves out with it.
I scored Mint in Box one but dont think will ever crack it open.thanks for telling me about that arm didnt realize it didnt have that lever in the back like the first 2 editions post your collection my man

Thanks for the info, MIB41. I went back and double checked and confirmed what I thought about my set. Both of the strips I have are the same. The five "documents" from top to bottom are:

      Top Secret Mission Objectives
      "Map" to Laboratory
Pic of Steve and description of his bionics
      Yellow electronic schematic
      Blue floorplan of Underground Laboratory

(It looks like most of the graphics are the same as the printed documents in Oscar's briefcase files.)

So, my set was either a packing error from the factory or (more likely) was made up of mix-and-match parts from multiple sets. I'll have to keep an eye out for the one with Oscar on it.

Sometimes those sets get confusing because they made like 3 different "headquarters" sets for SMDM, didn't they?

This one; then the Mission Control set with the inflatable dome; and wasn't there another one that was basically the Mission Control components without the inflatable dome?

Yes, you're exactly right, Rich. As a kid, I had the Mission Control Center, now I have the other one. It's called Command Console. It's exactly the same, minus the dome.

Just a theory, but Kenner probably changed the Mission Control Center set to the Command Console version once they realized how much those inflatable domes sucked! A friend and I both had Mission Control Center as kids and neither of our domes would stay inflated. I bought one a few years ago on eBay and it wouldn't hold air either. Kenner probably got a lot of complaints and decided to repackage the console without the dome. Jaime had her "Dome House" at the same time which I don't think was produced for very long.

On a note related to the OSI Headquarters set, I'm pretty sure that Jaime's Classroom playset used the same desk as Oscar's (but in a lighter brown plastic). However, did it use the "alarm" feature like Oscar's? If so, what was it attached to? Jaime didn't have a wall safe in her classroom, did she? I've never seen that set up close. (Also, it was interesting that the Classroom set's packaging was blue instead of the standard magenta. It's the only box art in the line I've seen that didn't follow that color scheme.)

How cool would it be to have a life-sized version of this in your house? Wood paneling, world map, safe and tv in the wall, down to the pic of Col. Austin. Might make a nice theme for a home-office.

                  Hmmm...

That is a really nice playset. I hope to get one someday down the road as I have just started collecting loose, but (hopefully) nice SMDM/Bionic Woman toys.

It's slow going for me right now. Grrr. I wish I could speed up time

From the series, I only have nude figures I've cleaned up at the moment. Everything else, accessory-wise, is either on the way in the mail to me (I hope) or I'm waiting for auctions to end. But you're right, it truly is a great line and I'm learning and discovering old/new things all the time. When I walk the toy aisles of today's toys I just don't see that type of imagination and creativity. But I guess I could say that about a lot of other things too.

Oh, and one of these days I'll show off my Toy Room, but right now there just isn't room because it's all packed away and sharing space with my library and then some. In time, I hope to afford an addition to my home.
