Yeah, same here. I use to pick them up at various garage sales for a quarter a pop. When you find them that cheap, something just comes over you and you have to buy them.

Care Bears are cool. My favorite was Grumpy.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

I always thought my sister's Strawberry Shortcake stuff was pretty cool....for girl's toys. Her Barbies had way more accoutrements than GI Joe or Big Jim and Barbie stuff was also more affordable and plentiful, to boot. I was a little bit envious of that and wished the molded-plastic boot hade been on the other foot, so to speak.

I also enjoyed it when she broke out the Easy Bake Oven

Hmmm, lets see, off the top of my head....

Official World's Greatest Super-Gals - Best all time ever, easy!
Bionic Woman - I almost see them as cross gender
Charlies Angels - Because I am a fan of the show
The Misfits from Jem - Evil rocker chicks, what's not to like?
Dynamite - Because she looks groovy
Blythe - Because she is a creep.

I think that's about it for me.

My cousins had the Easy Bake Oven. We used to actually eat the stuff that came out of there and you know, it wasn't all that bad tasting.

Bionic Woman is cool. Got my first one as an adult though.

How could I forget Carebears? I don't think I ever had one, but my friend had one (I remember kind of a shamrock motif?) and it was kind of a big deal. I have fond memories of seeing the movie as well.

Oh my god, I forgot about My Little Pony! I had some Carebears, but the only one I really liked was Grumpy(still have an old one on my desk). But I loved My Little Ponies - one of my favorite memories was my mom buying a new one to take on long vacations. It was torture, seeing it there on her dresser and not being able to open it until we were on our way!
Hey! Where's the waiter with the water for my daughter?

I'm surprised Baby Alive hasn't come up. I didn't really play with it much, but I have to admit I was fascinated with how it worked. I think my sister's ultimately became a bit gross, with food left inside of it, somwhere between mouth and diaper

Which Barbie playset had the round, wood-burning stove? Was that the townhouse? My sister had that one and I was constantly using for my WGSHs.

Well, I see the Townhouse was not what I was thinking about, but I can see why it substituted for a Wayne Foundation. Pretty cool.

So does anyone know the one I'm remembering? It was a like a cool, Manhattan apartment, possibly with a round stove in the middle and city scenes in the cardboard windows. Am I close to something?

I think that was Jody's (the country girl doll) general store.

Maybe wood-burning isn't right. It was a sleek round stove with a cylindrical pipe coming out the top. It might even have been orange or pink plastic. I think the real non-plastic version had a brief spurt of urban hipness. It a set-up more like this, in the middle of the room, but with the stove being more saucer like.

The playset was more of a cool, urban apartment. My memories are pretty fuzzy so I'm wondering if I dreamt this thing up. I can't find anything after a few Google searches.

Maybe it was Tuesday Taylor's penthouse playset.

(Fast forward to 1:01) I see the stove thing in that one, is that it?

THAT'S IT!!! Thanks for sating my girl-toy nostalgia.

It still looks as cool as I remember. I wish my NY apartment looked half that hip.
