'Cos I believe, I believe that I do,
Yes, I can see I believe that it's magic
If your mission is magic your love will shine true."Comment

This thread really takes me back. The ads for new Saturday morning cartoons, the specials... that was pretty much how we kids used to gauge when summer ended and the fall began.
Summer for us officially ended around Labor Day, usually coinciding with the Jerry Lewis MDA Telethon; in the last half hour, everyone would wonder if he'd beat last year's total, like we were watching the Kentucky Derby and our horse was in the lead.
School would start the very next day (boo! Took us away from our valuable Mego time!). We'd usually suffer a week or so, then the networks would unveil the Saturday Morning Previews that Friday. Usually the following Saturday, or a week or two later - BAM! New cartoons would premiere, and we'd watch 'em until noon when the monster movies would start. This was always followed by my mom yelling "You kids have watched enough TV! Go outside and play!"
Anyone ever notice, over time, the Previews and the new cartoons would be broadcast later and later in the year? I remember the Previews would be broadcast early September, and we'd get new cartoons mid-October. Ticked me off."It's sad that governments are chiefed by the double tongues. There is iron in your words of death for all Comanche to see, and so there is iron in your words of life. No signed paper can hold the iron. It must come from men. The words of Ten Bears carries the same iron of life and death. It is good that warriors such as we meet in the struggle of life... or death. It shall be life."Comment

Hmmmm....
I remember them comic book spots! Sometimes they were even on-model! I think the internets made this sort of thing unneccesary. You can get full reviews, previews, scripts, and TONS of nerd rage months before the new season....
