These were great & I don't even like football!

Being near the Pro Football HOF in Canton, OH, it was easy to get these, although my first (Rams) was from JC Penney's catalog.

I liked the TV movie about Jack Youngblood (Mark Singer!) & his kid brother, so that's what I customized.
WANTED: Dick Grayson SI trousers; gray AJ Mustang horse; vintage RC Batman (Bruce Wayne) head; minty Wolfman tights; mint Black Knight sword; minty Launcelot boots; Lion Rock (pale) Dracula & Mummy heads; Lion Rock Franky squared boots; Wayne Foundation blue furniture; Flash Gordon/Ming (10") unbroken holsters; CHiPs gloved arms; POTA T2 tan body; CTVT/vintage Friar Tuck robes, BBP TZ Burgess Meredith glasses.

That, I would like to see because I am feeling especially nostalgic for the NFL I loved as a kid. That is what drew me to this thread, really.

I just got back from a trip to Dallas. The Dallas Cowboys were my life and love as a kid. I walked into a pro shop and was overwhelmed by seeing memorabilia from that era.
Even though I haven't been a true Cowboys fan in 25+ years, I bought me some Old School Cowboys stuff.

These figures remind me of that time when all it took for a dude to be your favorite player was for you to have his bubblegum card.

That was John Cappelletti that Singer portrayed (Cappelletti won the Heisman in 1973, though, like Youngblood, he did play for the Rams).

I saw that movie, too...Something For Joey, and I loved it.

I'll at least get a Redskins one day and probably an Eagles and Giants and replace the Cowboys I have. I see them on ebay from time to time but never go after them. Like I said they can be pricey. But I bet they would be fun to collect.

            NFC East Fan????

Historically, the Cardinals were in the mix and briefly, the Saints....in case you are going for completion.

Yep. I have the Cardinals already. I remember getting the NFL Helmet Buggies and getting the NFC East so I could get my Redskins.

I remember the NFC East fondly because I was a Cowboys fan as a kid.

It always puzzled me, as a kid, that Dallas was in the East and NO and Atlanta were in the West.

(Paul Brown's influence was all over the uniform of the time, was it not??? Want to know a little about NFL History...read about Paul Brown. He founded both teams and the Browns are his namesake.)
That Geocities Site did have all 28 teams:
                  http://web.archive.org/web/200910270...ctionteammate/

It's too bad that the site isn't up anymore. Like ScottA noted, one member had the complete Dolphins lineup.

It's funny saildog, that you mentioned the Bengals; both uniforms were available. I prefer the earlier one myself. The later one looked more like Potato Bugs than Bengal Tigers.

Just like Megos, there was a section devoted to customs. That's where the expansion teams came into the picture. It also included throw-back uni's.
You are transparent; I see many things... I see plans within plans.

Wow...I wish I would have seen that site when it was up and running!

The text clearly says all 28 teams were made. I'm guessing that the second figure from the right on the second row in that pic is Ken Anderson (#14) of the Bengals.

                    Nice find, J.B.!

Figures the Bengals would be tough to get as that is my favorite team. Does anyone have an ebay search link they can post. I don't even know where to start the search. Can someone post a link or send me it in a pm. I would appreciate it.

If I knew where to tell you to start with these figures, I would, Brother. I would love to start a collection of them myself. Not to subvert the purpose of this board, but there are a few Megos I would give up for some of these.

I blame my folks because I definitely asked for them, but it was obviously easier for them to get me the trashcan, poster, and t-shirt I got for Christmas that year.

I still remember exactly where these were in the store. On a center aisle display right near the front door. I think the only reason I even wanted it was because it reminded me so much of Megos. Plus it being Buffalo helped as I had moved from there just a couple years before and missed it.
Not really into football so that's probably why it stayed in the package and so minty all these years. It's basically been in a box since then...and still is. I only dug it out when I took those pics (last year?) because someone else mentioned them in a thread here and I knew I had one.

That's the site I was talking about JB.

They are actually kinda tough to find on ebay as most who have them up for sale don't know or remember exactly what they were called. And when they are listed correctly you can bet the Action Team Mate collectors (and there are a lot out there) have already seen it. You just have to keep looking and searching.

And Rich if you ever want to sell that Bills let me know.
