I think for me it would be:
1)When they turned to Super Joes
2) When there wasn't any at all
3) When they turned into that stupid strike force (and shrunk down to almost 4 inches)
5) Now, 'cos they're concentrating on the movie and not releasing any Adventure Team stuff right now
Yeah I'm looking forward to Adventure Team stuff too. I would really like to have all the little Scientic tester gizmos. Maybe some day they'll make the A Team Headuarters and Training tower.
I tried to get the Talking black commander through the club but the "conditions " were sketchy and they were out of him.
I would like to see more 4 inch figures done in Classic Joes. I would also like to see a nice set of the Original two years of teh Real AMerican Hero. No 30 points of posibility like the new ones .
Maybe I'll hunt down the Comic 3 packs.Comment

I wish they'd continue the 25th Anniversary line even though the 25th is over. They still have a whack of characters they could add to the set and I was really enjoying collecting them.
I didn't like the new movie. I have a few of the figures and used others for customs when Walmart was selling them at 5 bucks a pop.
The worst era...probably Extreme or the end of the Real American Hero with Eco Warriors and all that Ninja stuff.
Best era was 1982-1987. The Joe movie in 87(?) kinda killed it with Cobra-Law but characters like Falcon and Jinx have a spot in my heart. The reason I say its the best era for me is that the characters had character. They had names, personalities, bad guys to fight, and a bit of sci-fi added to the mix. Also thats when I was growing up.Comment

For me, the big shark jump was these guys...
LOVED the Street Fighter Video Games. HATED the RAH style Action Figures. It was a disservice to both Gi Joe RAH and Street Fighter and result wasn't great for either fanbase with the compromises involved in rolling both brands into one.
I mean, THIS was Blanka?!
Okay, I get that they were suing a generic GI Joe 12" body... but here's the small version...
At least E Honda was properly proportioned.
Here is your custom Kingpin right there!
I think this was the nail in the coffin along with Eco Force, Ninja Force, and Space Monsters.Last edited by samurainoir; Jan 13, '10, 12:43 PM.Comment

What"conditions" were/are sketchy? All you do is order him for $58 member price or $100 Non member price which means you would now be a member and get other stuff for member prices.

I bought one off ebay cheaper than I would have spent. But I broke his string. Anybody do repairs ???Comment

I did buy two 12 inch Rise of Cobra. A while ago Cobra commander, mostly for teh coat. I was going to give it to my Nephew since it had no guns just a sword , then I took off the mask, looked like that guy from the third Hannibal Lecter movie who cut his own face off. No way!
Destro I got today and he is REALLY nice. The suit is awesome. The head is spooky. ( who knew texture would make such a difference in teh sculpt?
And he has a normal body not sculpted on sweaters or any other junk. Kinda makes me wish I had bought that 25th anniversary Snake Eyes for the ORIGINAL mask.
But Im just in it for the clothes. Destro will probally going storage or get redressed for the nephews.
I'm just in it for the clothes. ( the suit would make a nice addition to an Indiana Jones )
Can anybody show me what the NEO Viper 12" looks like under the Hall of Fame Snake Eyes mask?Comment

When I tried to get one a while back I called the club and they said he wasnt available as a joining pick.so I would have to pick a different guy, the Artic Adventurer I had just missed it. Then I would have to pay extra to get Talking Black Commnder

Yes, the ROC movie was AWFUL to say the least, but the ROC figures are not bad.
Sigma Sux was by far the worst time for joes...followed by Sgt Savage. I liked the WWII idea, but the figures were really bad. And the vehicles from that line had a dollar store knock off feel.sigpic Ultimately, I serve only one master... pure logic!Comment

I think the savage figures had a edger feel from the artwork and the cards. HUGE Cap America rip off but i LOVED having WW2 guns and accessories. Also liked the Nazi zombies in coats,
Only 33% human the card read. I guess they planned to kill a lot on the cartoon.
I have the new Commander coat and teh destro. I would like teh sound Storm Shadow just for the chrome swords.
I think it's embarrassing they are doing comic accurate but updated realstically RAH and it's NOT being done by Hasbro.
It's not a GI Joe.
I don't see no helmet sticker!!
Wait they Dont dare have the thumbnail reversed do they ? Are they putting the scar on?Comment

Extreme had to be the worst, but it and Sgt. Savage were huge misfires. I'm not sure why Hasbro thought kids would be so into WWII stuff in the early 90s. The first return of RAH figures that were in those diorama sets were horrible. The paint jobs were sloppy and plastic was cheap and transparent looking. They seemed to be knock-offs, but they were legit.
The movie was okay for a mindless action flick, but had little to do with any incarnation of GI Joe beyond Snake-Eyes and Storm Shadow being handled fairly well. The toys are nice though.

Yo make some good points Earthtwochris...stormshadow and snake eys were handled well in the film and the TRU exclusive RAH sets were awful....they did look like knock offs.
the 25th ann collection may be the best time in my opinion!sigpic Ultimately, I serve only one master... pure logic!Comment

I have to say EXTREME was worse than Savage. Though he was a guest character. The cartoon actually had skull head guy getting fired via webcam by Cobra Commander.

Actually, Sgt Savage was a mash up of Sgt Rock and Doc Savage, the Kubert DC run in the 1980s. They switched time travel with being in suspended animation but it was almost identical right down to having a "Fabulous Five".Places to find PlaidStallions online: https://linktr.ee/Plaidstallions
