    Worst time for GI joe

    Besides when there wasnt any.

Actually I would have to say right now. Theres NOTHING going on besides the movie stuff.

Sigma six was really bad. The EXTREME was bad. The end of the Real American Hero was bad with all the neon paint and outer space.

Sigma Six. Those were possibly the ugliest action figures I have ever encountered. I kinda liked Extreme in a quirky way, probably because I could find them for dirt cheap at Big Lots during the GI Joe drought of the late 90's.

If you are going to WAL-MART,TARGET, TOY R US looking for GI-JOE then yeah this is a worst of times moment
But on the brightside the collecter club will be releasing the 2010 12 inch AT JOE later this year and the prototype looks awesome and is named the URBAN ADVENTURER
And for you 3 3/4 guys they are also putting out an 80 RAH that never got passed the drawing board

I personally don't like the 90's 12 inch GI Joes. I collected quite a few of them back then, but really I don't have any attachment to them. The Masterpiece Editions are probably the only ones I still like from that decade only because they are repros of 60's Joes.

If you Like 3 &3/4 inch Joes ..., The Movie Figures are not all Bad... Some cool ones imo ..

Snake Eye's (Any) But that City Strike 1 is off the Hook !
            FireFly ( TRU Only)
The Monkey Wrench / Tunnel Rat 2 Pack ( Walmart Only)
            Baroness
Storm Shadow ( a couple of different 1's are pretty neat ..
            Scarlet ( Black Ops outfit)
            Duke (Accelorator suit)
Dr. Cobra Commander ..., This figure comes with loads of fun Stuff ..
Wild Bill comes with a Pretty Damn cool Helecopter ..

There's a few other jems imo as well,.. I don't think everything is Bad.

            Also,

            Sideshow 12inch Joes RULE !
And there is an Exclusive RAH 6 figure set out there with Wetsuit, and Recondo, and other's that is pretty damn neat.

I think Sigma six was the worst time in Joe History.
Nothing else was out at the time they were promoting this Nonsense...
Being a toy Fan ingeneral ..., I did like the Heavy Duty figure. The Gatlin Gun he came with was Wild.

Right now, no good 12 inch repro stuff out there at the stores. I wonder if there will be nothing on the classic front until the 50th anniversary.

                  Hmmmm....

I gotta go with "EXTREME!!!" Mostly for the cartoon. Sure, the Sigma 6 show wasn't very GI Joe, but it was an okay cartoon. EXTREME!!!.... well....

I DID find the PSAs funny. They were like the original ones, except you expected the Joes to jump on the suspicious stranger and rip his throat out.

I wish they would mass market that stuff because it cost's too much on the club side. You have to become a member which is high and then to buy the figure is high. By the time you've invested the money, your well on your way to the cost of a Hot Toys figure which a standard GI Joe figure is NOT. I remember when they originally put out the Land Adventurer years ago as a club exclusive. Over $50.00 for a brand new, but standard, action figure. Fast forward a short time later and you have the same figure, with better flocking, massed produced on shelves for $9.99. There you go. Now sure, I understand you can't produce a limited run of figures for $9.99 each and expect to be profitable. But at the end of the day it's the same figure collecting the same dust standing there in your collection. No craftsmanship in the figure will differentiate the cost, so I can't justify it. I think Hasbro should do a mass production of different eras every Christmas. AT one year, vintage 60's one year, 80's one year. Focus on one aspect of that era each year. The volume could be adjusted for a seasonal run and not one to stay on shelves all year. I think the success of that approach would be MASSIVE. Plus this approach doesn't interfere or confuse the consumer with their current line up which they would produce the rest of the year (be it a movie-based figure or new lines entirely).

Sigma six is the lowest i ddin't like the anime style animation or the proportions of the 8.5 In body.

I disliked the Rise of Cobra film but have few complaints on the toys (except maybe for the film likenesses) the ones that are redeco'd 25th bodies/resolute I think are winners

I'm not sure what figure your talking about, because the membership figure is free.

For the $42 you get your membership with all the all Gi Joe news, a Free 12" or 3 3/4" Gi Joe action figure depending on what you pick, and free sales ads if you choose. All in all not too bad actually, the figure itself is worth at $15-$20+ of that if you put it on eBay.

Last years free talking 12" Black AT commander was the best so far.

This years free 12" figure looks pretty good as well, a continuation of the Fuzzy foreign head AT line.

But that 50.00 land adventurer was in the time when a mass produced timeless joe was 30.00. by the time the walmart AT's were released hasbro had made a mint in 10 years worth of timeless collecitons sales (including AT reissues) so they had no start up costs and Wally footed the bill for the run. I beleive the success of the CC and Timless figs was an influence for hasbro to put out the walmarts at the low price point they did. Same as the argument for doc's ST figs in order to aim for a broader market you have to make small steps

I think for me it would be:

1)When they turned to Super Joes
                            2) When there wasn't any at all
                            3) When they turned into that stupid strike force (and shrunk down to almost 4 inches)
                            5) Now, 'cos they're concentrating on the movie and not releasing any Adventure Team stuff right now
"Do you believe, you believe in magic?
'Cos I believe, I believe that I do,
Yes, I can see I believe that it's magic
If your mission is magic your love will shine true."

Extreme for me, this was the first time the G.I. Joe brand seemed generic and uninspired, the figures sucked and the whole concept was freaking boring.

G.I. Joe should be innovative, not "phoned in".

Sigma Six wasn't very good but at least it was a unique approach.

I actually really liked "Sgt. Savage", mostly because the story was completely ripped from the DC version of "Doc Savage" with some Sgt Rock (thanks to Joe Kubert) mixed in.
