Merch based on the iconic 1966 Batman pin-ups

Over at 13th Dimension, we're in the middle of BATMAN PINUPALOOZA, celebrating the 60th anniversary of those iconic pin-ups featuring indelible images of Batman, Robin and their Rogues by Carmine Infantino and Murphy Anderson.

For my latest article, I spotlighted 13 pieces of merchandise inspired by or featuring that seminal artwork. There are hundreds, maybe thousands more examples, but these cover a nice range of products, including Mego!

Neat! I had never seen that lamp before. Very cool. Too me the oval Batman insignia with the capsule belt is still the best look for the character.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

Great article! The quintessential Batman, rivalled only by Adams/Aparo IMO. I had those Chemtoy figurines, too.

I have several of the DC poster-prints framed, including Rooftop B&R, Penguin, and Aparo's villians group. Iconic, to me.

Something I really like about that era's reliance on this art, especially including Mego, is that toys then featured a classic Penguin, with a properly-cut tailcoat different from the Joker's.

That probably only matters to me, but anyone watching Batman '66 sees it, too--and all the way back to Sprang & Burnley. No-one knows what "on-model" is today lol.

Interesting observation about the costume details. It should be much easier for artists to keep elements consistent, since it's all just a google away, but they often don't. It is kind of aggravating.

Thanks everyone for taking a look at the article. Be sure to check out some of the wonderful artwork the regular 13th Dimension contributors have created, inspired by the pin-ups. I have one coming up on Saturday as well.
