    vending machines and local drugstore..

Anyone remember going to the local drugstore or corner candy store and always seeing the vending machines with your favorite stickers of superhero's,wacky packages, ape rings, the mini football helmets that actually came with the stickers to put on the helmets.

Or how about when you would go to the local drugstore and that spinning peg rack with apes carded toy games,or parachutes.I always remembered that..Oh the good old days

I always wanted to get the prizes from the gumball type machines. When I was little and w/ my mom, the answer was no, b/c the prizes were 5 cents, and gum was a penny. When I got a little older, I got rings, tattoos, stickers, and those fat plastic whistles.

I never really went in for the peg board cheapies at the counter.

I always looked for the machines that had the little rubber creatures like rats and bats in them.

            I still do....

The grocery store has one that sells 1.5 inch high robots, and my lust for tiny robots knows no bounds. I always bring a pocket full of Loonies when I go grocery shopping. (I should probably stop the evil genius cackling when I buy them though. It's been getting looks from the staff.)

I let my kids pop in a few quarters every now and than for some of the new junk out there. Keeping the tradition alive!
Too many toys. Not enough space!

I always went for the designer magnets. My mom let me keep covering the freezer door until it was covered. Had everything from state shapes to Underdog to hip quotes.
                    It's all good!

My wonderful wife got me a set of cherished Super Hero secret ID flicker cards a few Christmases back. There was a machine at our local Howard's store that had those, stickers, patches, you name it. I broke my parents for quarters.

I always went after the rubber balls you could get out of the machines.

My fondest vending machine memory is of some plastic Star Wars knockoff spaceships in a machine where I used to go bowling when I was about 9 (around 1978). I have yet to find any info on these things in recent years, although I did locate one of the ships a couple years ago- my only proof that these things existed!
