    Gigantics Invade Model Kit Market

The Gigantics kits by Fundimensions are one of the coolest model kit concepts EVER! In 1975, fundimensions went to back to 1950s cinema with a series of giant insects attacking urban areas. I somehow missed these when they were first released, only discovering them in the mid 1980s when I grabbed the wasp kit at a toy show.

Sadly when I opened the kit, I realized I couldn't do it justice so I ended up selling it at the next toy show, I still regret that decision. However, reissues of these kits are now about.

I had the Mantis kit when I was in the 5th Grade. I remember using a lemon-scented glue to put the Mantis together, so now I think of Lemon Pledge every time I see a pic of these models

they re-issued only three of them, with the wasp having no re-issue. I am looking at them now (still sealed) on my shelf. These work out great for when I have to scan magazines. The boxes are the same height as my scanner bed so I can perfectly layout a magazine

          Hmmmm....

Those kits RULE! I love the box art; especially since you can see that they're the bases from the kit. I went thorugh a few of 'em when I was a kid. I'd play with them 'til they fell apart. (Must have built four or five scorpions and tarantulas.) Funny thing; I never had the Mantis when I was a kid, and it seems to be the one that everyone else had!

          >I remember using a lemon-scented glue

Black tube, yellow lettering? I remember that stuff, it was useless. And yeah, it smelled like Pledge....

          >with the wasp having no re-issue.

I heard it was 'cos the molds had tanked. You can still get them though; the wasp seems to have been kinda common. I got one still sealed off ebay a year back for $40.

I had all 4 of these guys on the hutch above my desk as a kid. I loved these kits. Sadly they didn't survive. I have picked up the Mantis so far. I'll get the others and rebuild them someday.

I should have said this sooner. I have all 3 gigantics (re-issues) still sealed from the store shelves. I also have the 3 Aurora Godzilla re-issues (godzilla, rodan, ghiderah) also sealed

I need to make space as I am never going to do anything with my kits. I can provide a photo if needed, but if anyone wants the 6 kits it would be a total of 30$ which incs shipping, insurance and delivery confirmation. Drop me a PM if interested

Oh wow! There are these little figurines called "B Movie victims", and they would go so perfectly w/ those! I could see acting out the movie Tarantula w/ those!

I wanted those kits so bad when I was a kid but I never even saw them in stores, only in advertisements (probably in the back of Warren magazines).
