If I have these, I can quit! My wishlist!

I made a list of "vintage figures" that I must have. "Loose" is fine for me, but a halfway decent box is always welcome, of course.
So my goal is to finish this list, and then seal myself in my toy bunker and never leave!!!!

    In no particular order:

    1. Fewture Devilman Zenotic Amon
    2. Shogun Godzilla (DONE!!)
    3. Matt Mason Scorpio, Jeff Long and Space Station
    4. Fighting Furies Captain Kidd (DONE!!)
    5. SMDM Bionic Bigfoot
    6. Mego Batgirl, Riddler, Dracula, Frankenstein
    7. Sideshow Bond Roger Moore (Live and let die)
    8. Kojak 8" (DONE!!)
    9. Sideshow 8" Metaluna Mutant and Invisible man. (BOTH DONE!!)
    10. SW vintage: Sonic Landspeeder, Droid Factory, Sears Cantina, Bespin Cloud City, and Jabba's Dungeon.

If I have these, I can rest in peace....

You don't honestly believe that do you? I've written so many "quit lists" it's lost all meaning....

Kojak is on your If I have these, I can quit list ???

I didn't think it was that rare to deserve to be on such a list.

I had it as a kid.
I need it to "come full circle". For completion's sake! I miss my Telly!

And seriously. I've been collecting for over 30 years now, and as for "vintage items", I know what I need.
I would love to own all Megos, but after some good deals here, I managed to get my all-time favourites in one year (Thor, Goblin, Iron Man,...), and it felt like: "OK. That's good enough. Just four more, and that will do."

Some on my list aren't rare at all. Like Roger Moore. Won't cost me more than $20-40.
I have to end it somewhere. I don't want to end up like the Roman Empire and overexpand!

I don't think I've ever made a quit list, but I have made a 'this finishes that collection up' list. Those don't really last all that well either, tho as I have been known to upgrade from time to time. Can't quit looking, that is half the fun.

Sorry man, it will never end, even if you do get all these items, there will always be something else that catches your fancy.

Exactly. It happens to me all the time.

No no no... see, this is how it works:
Step 1) Decide you have to set yourself firm limitations
Step 2) Sell one partial line to finish collecting your other "now I'm done" line.
Step 3) See something else you want.
Step 4) Find companion pieces from lines that fit the same theme.
Step 5) Decide you made a horrible mistake selling that first partial (oh but it was almost complete!) line.
Step 6) Decide that piecing it all back together would be madness. Madness!!
Step 7) Start yourself on that line you saw in (Step 3) as a compromise.
Step 8) Decide you have to set yourself firm limitations.

                    Hmmmm....

Maybe it's just me; but I find there comes a point when I may not be DONE, but my fenzy tapers off. I used to pick up every 8" Mego figure that came down the pike, but after I got my Conan (who was always my main want) getting new figs became a lot less important. Now I pick up the odd piece, but concentrate mostly on customs.

I've also lucked out 'cos there aren't too many other things I really want to colect and I've only got 3 (ish) things on my want list. (Also lucky in that they're probably not valuable. 'Course that means nobody's hoarding them, and it means they're genuinely tough to find....)

I'm going to try and "kick the habit" of just collecting on and on and on.
I just cannot afford it anymore.

When I just joined the Museum, I thought: "I'm going to get each and every Mego."
But now that I have my favourites, I've noticed that my hunger has been stopped. I'm really cool with the Megos I have, and I'm just gunning for 4 favourites.
That doesn't mean I'll never pick up another figure, but as for "vintage" is concerned, I'm OK with my list.

I already have a massive collection (about 25 display cabinets), and I'm going to stop before I get indigestion. My wife and I have always wanted to travel more, even up to the point that we'd move to another country, and you just cannot take that amount of stuff with you. And storing it away forever isn't my idea of fun.

And I have to admit: having "the list" is a great incentive. Once you cross one off, you feel great.

It's the Captain Gorn Farewell Tour! Now come on cap'. Take a break but let's not throw the baby out with the bath water. Sometimes if your volume gets too big, it simply means you need to take a break, reassess what you really want to keep, and then go into profit mode and sell some of it. I've got so much stuff, some days I can't hardly walk into my collector room. No kidding. Just become a capitalist for a while and sell some of that stuff for space and then you'll get hungry again.

                          Don't worry!
Even if I get my whole list, I'll still be around. Feeling all "balanced" and "zen".
                          With the "perfect collection".

And I've already trimmed down my collection. Whatever's left, I'm getting buried with!

I certainly understand that part. Sometimes my wife and I talk about the possibility of moving to Japan (where her family lives) and the thought of what the hell I would do with all my stuff makes my head spin.
