There are 50 Adventures of G.I. Joe

And I want every single one of them! Argh!

I'm not really a Joe collector but about once every 4 years, I go on this insane bender, where I purchase as much as I can find and afford. Eventually I came to my senses realising a) I'm broke and b) I have no room to put all this stuff. So I end up paring it down a bit, keeping childhood favourites.

This cycle constantly repeats itself, I blame the packaging, it's brilliant and my inner six year old just makes me it's slave. Help me....

I remember wanting so many of those sets as a kid, especially the white tiger hunt and mummys tomb and one with a buddha/idol.
I got some major playsets (headquarters, mobile command, etc) but never got those adventure sets.

Too bad those lifelike bodies are always in pieces but go with Joe

without Joe no action figure would exist

Really enjoying this. I've had a few Joe items and figures for a long while and as time goes by I'm getting more and more into this line.

The only way I have successfully avoided collecting this line as an adult is by never having a piece. I know that, even if by accident, a Joe part or accessory was slipped into a pile of my AJ stuff it would be all over.

Same here.. But all I had as a kid was a talking commander, air adventurer (all pre-KFG) and the headquarters. I had to beg my Dad for the 'Ariel Recon' set.. WISHED I had at least an ATV, buy my guys had to walk everywhere.. OR use the sole mini jet pack I had from the MMM line.

I gained quite a healthy collection in the '90s, again all pre-KFG, like buying the swamp craft, talking astronaut, MSV, Gyperman green ATV (still MIB), the Harley Davison WWII motorcycle (not vintage, I know..) and most of the real nice '60s sets. , mainly from eBay and the Kane County Toy Show in Illinois for a few years.

I've sold a couple of vintage Joe sets (Panther Jet, Breeches set..) over the last few years to buy some Mego stuff and Beatle/Stones items, but I always regret it months/years later. THOSE were the best sets, and I strive to keep a healthy collection buried in my basement.

I'm a Big AT GIJoe fan. The artwork on the packages was fantastic! I worked very hard one summer to save up and buy the Swamp Craft set now long gone. I do still have my original Gijoe Sea Wolf Submarine and Sea Adventurer which to me are now priceless.

I missed the boat on these by a few years. I remember a kid at school swearing to us GI Joe used to be big, and his brother had some figures like this. We thought he was full of crap. Then one day, he brought one in! Of course he also lied and said they made Cobra Commander, Snake-Eyes, Duke, etc. back then too...

They seemed to be really well made, marketed toys. Top of the line stuff. Too bad I missed them!

I dabble in collecting Joes but mostly I have the collectors club exclusives now. I actually sold off all my vintave stuff on ebay about 5-6 years ago. I do have the Sea Wolf and the Space Capsule though. Also I had a a couple of the dune buggies which I let my son play with so I guess I can't count them in my collection. With all the reproductions out there I think the vehicles and playsets are the coolest to collect...since most were not reproduced

GI Joe is the center of my Collecting Universe when it comes to Action Figures. No disrespect intended but my 12" Megos are just a sideline -- as is my Fighting Yank Collection.

I started as a Painted Head collector during the 1960's and became an Adventure Team collector incidentally, but now I am totally hooked. I have bought the reissues and the modern Club Exclusives, too.

The only vintage GI Joe that I have parted with was a German Soldier which was stolen by the two brothers across the street back in 1967... Fricken Sons of Bast!
