Funny I also thought they made made more different character. I only wish I bought the loose one they had for sell in children section at the JC Penny in Bozeman, MT back in 93

It has been bookmarked. Great site Scott. I remember as a kid just not even playing a story with Big Bird, just staring at the detail in those feathers. Cool memories! It's all good!Comment

I did comment on this on Brian's earlier plug, "Brick's Picks". This is a cool site, Scott. I have memories of my gift set. (and my Cookie monster hand puppet). And you were such a little cutie in your Pooh jammies, Scott! Good job!"Do you believe, you believe in magic?
'Cos I believe, I believe that I do,
Yes, I can see I believe that it's magic
If your mission is magic your love will shine true."Comment

Great work Scott. Lots of interesting information. Guess I'll have to keep an eye out for finger puppets now for you.Seems like I see those all the time at flea markets but just walk right past them.

So; one of my not so fond memories of SS finger puppets.
My birthday is just at the beginning of the school year, at least it used to be in ancient times, and I had received a gift set of these lovelies of which I was rather proud. I especially loved the Grover. He was my favorite monster then, followed closely by Cookie, then Ernie. So... Grover and Cookie went with me for the 'show and tell' experience and I did my best (high pitched) monster voices and then put the fellows in my desk. We had hulking one piece metal desks with the storage compartment built under the seat like a cubbyhole. Coming back from recess, I get a book or whatever out of my desk and see Cookie, but NO Grover. I flipped out. We tore the desk down, did a sweep of the immediate area, and asked if anyone had seen him. No luck. No one ever fessed up to it, and the teacher thought I had lost him in the playground, but I knew somebody swiped my little blue buddy.
Here is the kicker. I grew up in NM. I seem to recall Megoscott grew up in NM.
Hmmmmmm.
Just kidding around; I know Scott possesses the highest virtue and would never snatch another mans monster.
I never did replace that Grover with a finger puppet tho I have a cache of the vintage hand puppets from the various manufacturers including my Grover hand puppet circa 1975. I might just have to look into it.
