    TV Alert: Life on Mars

Tonight at 10 on ABC sees the debut of "Life on Mars", the americanized version of the brilliant UK series. Why am I blogging about this? Life on Mars follows the adventures of a modern day cop who after he becomes injured, wakes up in 1973. If it's half as good as the original, I'm so there.

    I will check it out.

I kept wondering what they'd do if a crook ran into a Woolworth's toy section.

IS it wrong to be drawn to this show simply because its set in '73? To be honest, I don't know I would be so interested in it otherwise.

I agree Bill. I've been looking forward to this for a while now. The main draw is that it's taking place during the early 70s. Should make for some good 70's fashion mockery.

Somebody involved with this show contacted the Museum last summer and asked a lot of questions about mego. Fingers crossed.

BBC America just ran a marathon of the original this past week to prep everybody for the new series.

It was pretty much the same pilot as the BBC version but I enjoyed it anyway...hopefully it'll last longer than the BBC version.

Never heard of the BBC version.

I've been waiting for this one to air. It was as good as I hoped it would be. No, not really. It was better. It had everything I had hoped for and more. I will be watching every episode.

I liked the show a lot. I enjoyed seeing the Twin Towers standing again in all their glory.

Where did they manage to find all those pre-1973 vehicles?

i thought it was good. it really was like living back in 1970's! very nostalgic! i loved seeing the old cars on the screen. they definitely caught my attention.
