What lunch boxes did you take to school ?

Old thread, but I thought it might be nice to revisit it for the newer guys.

What lunch boxes did you take to school ?

    Me,
I never took a single one.
I was a "hot lunch kid" ... but I always envied the kids with cool lunch boxes.

Were you a hot lunch kid too ?
    A brown bagger ?

Or did you bring a cool lunch box ?
.. and if so, what was it ?

I had a lunch box but I lived like a block and a half from school, so I rarely used it.

I seem to recall Hong Kong Phooey and then later the Black Hole. Still have the Black Hole one, it's covered in Clash of the Titans stickers.

I had what I consider the third greatest old school metal lunchbox of all time...The Six Million Dollar Man...Behind Batman and Star Trek of course...

I have my Hot Wheels lunch box from 37 years ago. I used it until the 4th grade. Then I was "too cool" to carry a lunch box (but never wanted to throw it away).

My mom was so out of it...she didn't understand the importance of taking a lunchbox to school. 1st -3rd grade, I had hot lunch. But 4th grade, I had enough of abusing my stomach and taste buds. I insisted on taking lunch to school, and my mom refused to buy me a lunchbox, b/c she was afraid I'd lose it. But when my friend got a new lunchbox, I got her Bobby Sherman hand-me-down. Not that I didn't like Bobby, but it wasn't my first choice. Her sister gave me a plain red thermos. OK, at least I had a lunchbox. I kept up w/ that thing for a whole year! And when we went to visit my brother in California, we went to the store and saw a WALL of lunchboxes dispayed, (see my thread in the General Buzz), and I saw my dream box, the Bionic Woman! I asked my mom if I could get it (w/ my own money, mind you), and you know what she told me after I kept up w/ Bobby for a year? "You already have a lunchbox." Which probably explains why I have 12 lunchboxes now. I still don't have the Bionic Woman, but I do have the thermos.

I should have insisted my parents buy me the Planet of the Apes lunchbox...but no!!...I wanted to look grownup and instead opted for a plain red and black plaid pattern. I always hated that lunchbox.

I didn't take lunch often, but when I did, it was in a Super Friends, MOTU or Super Powers lunch box.

My son's current lunch box looks like Superman's chest. there is a top flap under the "S" shield, and the belt buckle is a little compartment to store change. It even has a cape. Coolest lunch box I've seen in ages.

Ok don't laugh. The ones I remember having and definately taking to school were the Disney dome, Flintstones Pebbles & Bamm Bamm and Lidsville. Now I have an original Batman, Super Friends, Super Powers and Marvel Super Heroes. I also have a couple of the mini lunch boxes that were released a while back and the Super Friends ornament.

For some reason I feel no desire to acquire the ones I had as a kid.

I don't recall carrying one past elementary school and I can only remember two that I had but I must've had more than that.
I remember having to take this ugly blue one. Had some kind of checkery pattern with light/darker blue checks. About the same color as Dorothy's (Wiz of Oz) dress. It was from my grandmother's cupboard! For some reason I remember them opening the door and taking that lunchbox out and giving it to me.
I also recall a Charlie Brown/Snoopy one. It had comic strip looking panels on the sides if I remember right.
