I remember these well and actually remember the covers. What a flashback!

I loved these and have often thought about collecting them again but I want to first get the ones that had all of the super-hero origins in them..I don't suppose anyone has a checklist?

That sounds vaguely familiar to me...I'm picturing them wearing purple but I hope that's not a Wonder Twins influence on my brain (or Donny and Marie)

Does anyone remember SuperMag? That was another one of these type of magazines but smaller in size.

Jenette Khan, former DC Comics' publisher/president, was the one who started up Dynamite magazine...you can sort of see that with all of the comic book connections.

Dynamite #28, with cover stories on Laverne & Shirley and King Kong, began the adventures of - "Pam and Bill Harris were ordinary teenagers until winning rings at a carnival changed their lives forever. When touched together, the rings transform the pair into Dawnstar and Nightglider, the invincible Dynamite Duo who can control the force of gravity." Art was credited as the King "D" Studio. They lifted a little bit of Captain Marvel (Shazam) and a bit of the Wonder Twins. This Dawnstar appeared about a year before the LOSH one. I'll post a pic if I can figure out how. Fun stuff for a nine year-old me.

Nightglider had a blue costume with red gloves & boots, Dawnstar's costume colors were the reverse of his. They both had a yin-yang symbol on the belt buckle (also on the rings) from which five lightning bolts radiated, three up on the stomach and one down each thigh.

I can't remember which one but I think either Pizzazz or Bananas was started by Stan Lee

Here's the superhero origins that I have:

Vol. 1 #4 Herbie the Love Bug cover : Spidey origin
Vol. 1 #5 Born Free cover: Captain America origin
Vol. 1 #3 Mad cover (there are 2 different mad covers): Hulk origin
Vol. 1 #23 Sweathogs cover: Thor (but not his origin)
Vol. 1 #2 Waltons cover: Batman origin

One that sticks out in my mind was the Daredevil origin with the red and yellow costume...

Ya, I think Pazzazz only lasted for about a dozen issues. I will have to dig mine out and check. I know, I own all but one issue of the run. Bought them for the Star Wars Story line.
I though of collecting Dynamite issue, but stop because the run lasted almost 15+ years. I know because I got my first issue Logan's Run, long lost now, in the Third grade and you could still order it, when I graduated High School in 86. I do have a few odd issues I picked up over the years.

I'm not 100% sure but I think Woolworth's wound up getting a hold of some back issues and selling them back in the day.

                              Hmmmm....

Never bought the Dynamite mag (I was more of an Owl kid) but I had a bunch of their books. They used to put out a lot of little paperbacks with crafts and such in 'em.

                                Yes!
I have quite a few issues of Dynamite (all mine from way back when). They had been in a box for maybe 25-30 years now and I just dug them out a few weeks ago and they are actually sitting on my dresser right now!
Unfortunately I am at work and can't give a good rundown on which issues and some are really beat. In fact, I think a couple may be missing one or more of the covers. I know I still have some of the posters somewhere but I'm sure most are long gone. I remember having the Cher & Bruce Lee posters on my wall back in the 70's.
I recall an All in the Family cover & a Six Million Dollar man cover among the ones I have. I think there's also a JImmy Walker cover too. Maybe a John Denver one.
I was also one of the lucky ones one summer because my Grandma ordered me the SUMMER issues so I got Dynamite all year long one year (came in the mail).
Also if I remember right, Jenette Kahn (of DC Comics publishing fame) was either a creator or was somehow involved in Dynamite as well?
I have one or two issues of Pizzazz somewhere too. Bought it because I was so into Grease and it had Sandy & Danny (Olivia & Travolta) on the cover and he was saying something like , "Hey, we're in Pizza magazine" and she replied, "Aintcha got not class, That's Pizzazz", or something like that.
                                LOL
                                Good times, good memories.
