I must say, as a kid I didn't mind Herbie AT ALL. In fact, I only had a vague understanding of the REAL fantastic four. I was never deep in comicbookland anyway, so for me, Herbie didn't seem out of place. Of course he was the cute comic relief character, but ALL cartoons had this vibe in the late 70's (Godzuki, anyone?). Today I love the late 70's FF cartoon. It certainly is ridiculous but this is exactly why I like it!

i have another late 70's ff coloring book i think their fighting a witch or something like that? (lol) but atleast the torch in in it.
i don't hate the herbie cartoon but the 60's hanna series was way better and even that was watered down from the kirby-lee comics.
