Again, I'm no expert...just comparing them to mine

The mask is curving around Robin's head. That is not correct. It should not do that. The mask is should point out on both sides. Now seeing it on the figure it looks too big and not the correct shape. Here's the picture of just the mask on the MEGO Museum. It is 100% correct.

You can't even fight the charge. He was very clear in his discription "I have no idea if the mask is original or not", he also said that he states his business is "built on a solid foundation of experience, knowledge and integrity."
I think as a seller of these types of items for the amount of time he has been in business he could have done more to find out just what he had here. My feeling he knew what he had. Didn't over price it and got a good score.

Joe was there a box involved. If so not a horrible loss. Good luck my friend!

Thanks everyone I asked him to cancel the transaction - I hope that he is "ok" with that since I explained that I found out that it is not real. Maybe someday - I will find one!!

If you paid already, and paid via paypal - I'm pretty sure you will get your refund.

if you did, and you do plan on sending it back be sure to get insurance on it shipping it back, also make sure you get signature confirmation (so he has to sign for it)
just be sure to cover your self. I do not own one so I can't help

But just want you to cover your self as not to get beat.
          Good luck

Now with seeing the image of the mask on the figure - I'm not so sure anymore. I wanted it to be real, but I'll agree - the fit doesn't look right.

If someone who has one can send me a good picture (back and front) via PM - I would really appreciate it. I am going to save a bit more and don't want to make this mistake again. I think the seller will be understanding and cancel the transaction and correct the listing - I think anyway - but if not hopefully most of us have seen this!! He is a nice minty robin (it seems) barring the "R" though. A sincere "thank you" to everyone again - I really do appreciate it

Your the best for the pictures

I contacted the seller - basically this came from a box of toys he had from many years ago - he does not see how this can be a custom or reproduction - he is fairly certain that it is real. I am going to have him send it and take a look and take some better pictures!! I guess it can't hurt! I really want one - I hate to get my hopes up because of all the info - maybe just wishful thinking!!

If the guy is a gentleman and his word is his bond, which is very rare these days, when dealing with the amounts of money that are involved here, then you will have no problem. With that being said like I stated in my previous post strait from the sellers description he did not mis represent himself or the item, so getting a refund will be very hard. Even if you try to get him to say in an e mail through e bay or pay pal that he will give you a refund or a return after you have been able to inspect the item you may still loose the case, because once again he did not misrepresent himself or the item.

I hope the best for you my friend... to loose money like that these days is not easy!!! PLEASE KEEP US UPDATED, I know I would like to know how you made out.

I know - I cannot afford to loose the money - at all I don't know why but I think it may be alright since he states in an ebay message the background and that he is saying it is real. In the past - ebay does look at these messages - I have won cases based on them. He actually is very honest - I have purchased much lesser priced items in the past - he could just be wrong Someone may have faked this many years ago - I don't know why they would put him in a box of other figures and sell them to him - but who knows!! This was always rare so...

I am actually really curious about this anyway because someone had some great art skills and a really steady hand!! Who knows though - maybe the pictures were not the greatest. He did say that there were (3) others that had contacted him to buy it and (1) was a really big seller on ebay - I feel better because I kind of felt foolish since it is probably a reproduction!!

That is a tough one. If it is a repro, it's the best I've seen. It does hug the head of the figure but maybe the elastic was replaced.

You know what - this may be the holy grail of repro's!! I can just imagine someone there with there hobby knife and an inch of plastic and micro rubber mesh for 16 hours or so - putting it up to the light...checking...cutting...measuring... I think we all have to see this now - this should be interesting! Something in me still hopes it is real though I would love to have one

Well - Here it is - someone put alot of time into it. I asked him if I could return it - I really think this will be fine.

I explained to the him that it is not real.

All I can say is WOW!!!! That is the best repro I think that was ever made. You can see on the top of the mask that it was not cut even. Someone must have cut out the material for the mask with scissors.
