That's an interesting response right after I posted, "Just out of curiosity, I wonder where Mr. Holcomb got this information? Did the information come directly from one of the people who worked in sales at Mego?"
Sounds like something that someone would say from behing a curtain! "Do not arouse the wrath of the great and powerful Oz. I said come back tomorrow."

Sorry. It had nothing to do with your post. I was sarcastically responding to the post I quoted in my post. I should have been more clear.

A lot of people said they thought it would have been The Hulk. I would have thought The Hulk would have been much lower on the list. I have owned far more Batman, Robin, Superman and Spock figures than The Hulk. I've found that whenever I've picked up a lot of figures, those four have been by far more common than The Hulk. I think I've owned maybe 4 or 5 Hulks over the years, but I've owned dozens of Batman, Robin, Superman and Spock Megos.

It's interesting to hear what others think on this topic. I certainly would love to see a definitive list of the total sales numbers for each character! I realize that there probably is no such list, but it sure would be cool to see!
Thanks for your thoughtful answer. Obviously the best person to ask would be Ben, I do know that some of his research was based on interviews with ex-employees and sales records. I will look again in his book to see what other sources he used.

              Best Selling

From my childhood, it was Batman and Spiderman.

I was only kidding. I just like to take any opportunity I can to throw a quote from The Wizard of Oz into a conversation in response to someone who might actually get it!

Sure! Regardless of the actual answer to the original post, it's certainly an interesting topic...made even more interesting by each of our different experiences with Megos we've owned or just seen available for sale over the years!

                  Hmmmm....

Spidey's real common; but I kinda think Batman might be the winner, given the proliferation of 'em out there. Unless folks aren't parting with their Spideys. Maybe 'cos he's so close to the contemporary version, as opposed to Bats?
