I agree with Mego73: I've had great luck cleaning (by hand) costumes with Oxy and cheap dishsoap in very warm water--the synthetic fabrics are surprisingly durable after 35 years. Avoid bleach. Rinse everything really well & block items, then let them air dry.

Regarding her hair, I've not seen this strawberry blonde effect, but have seen both supergirl & IG with darker, stiffer hair--which I assume is an effect of the aging of the saran hair fiber (perhaps UV damage?).

If it's styled nicely and has the band, I'd leave it be. You can clean the band and face of smoke residue with a q-tip dipped in a little rubbing alcohol--gently swab the face.

Thanks, guys. Definitely some good ideas here. I appreciate the help. Might try the stain devil idea. I haven't messed with it yet - I think I'm nervous. HA!

No, I don't have the capability to post the pics if I have to post them on photobucket or something similar first. Strangely, you really can't see discoloring or the stains in the pics that I was sent.

I did some research online and found suggestions including the dish soap and warm water idea, but then using white vinegar and cotton pads to soak out the stain. The net also suggested alcohol for removing what's left. I doubt I'll mess with the hair unless I test a piece with vinegar or alcohol and it seems to get something out. Thanks again.
