Interesting story. Would be awesome if you could track the dude down and confirm such a thing. Mudd being real or not, if he worked for Mego it would still be cool.

There was a custom Harry Mudd figure (maybe more than one) on a Star Trek Alien card (which I thought was funny because Harry is an Earthling) making the rounds at Star Trek Conventions in the 1980's (when I went to them and I saw it more than once).
It's entirely possible he got a custom Harry MuddComment

unfortunately,from what I have been able to gather over the years, no Harry Mudd prototype was ever produced by Mego (nor chekov or sulu or rand or chapel, etc)... they were rumored to have been on the drawing board, but never got off "paper", so to speakComment
