Ok here's one for the far fetched category, but recently I found some hope in an article here in the museum, and well, like the title says Believe or not Believe...that is my question.
All of this starts in the late 80's early 90's when I renewed my interest in Star Wars/Trek and was a frequent visitor to a local Suncoast, where a few of my friends worked. Their boss (I FORGET HIS NAME SO THAT SUCKS) noticed I had a few Megos in a bag that I bought from someone I used to buy toys from met up with me in the mall. He was thrilled to see them, and claimed that his oldest brother used to design the figures in the Star Trek line. He continued that he had the privelage of seing figures before they came out, as his brother often was allowed to keep prototypes he worked on. Now years after learning much more about Mego, the pieces had fallen in favor, he was in his 30's back then so his brother would have been of age to work for Mego. Add the fact that Mego was here on Long Island. This added much credibility to the story I had once dismissed as pure fiction for the sake of conversation.
Until now Reading an article here there is mention that Mudd was to join the line at one time....
I remember him mentioning that his brother kept all of that stuff all those years later. BUT the one thing that made me dismiss the whole thing as a tall tale was the fact that he said his brother had a Harry Mudd figure. Get those whips and Fedoras in order folks, I could be the victim of exadurated stories, or I have a clue that leads me to believe the Harry Mudd prototype may indeed exist, and be here on Long Island.......Believe or not Believe...that is my question. Has anyone ever verified the existence? perhaps even seen it? Being this was like 1988 or 90 (pre internet for sure) I have reason to believe this may be true....
