I find that using a fine toothed cat comb is really good on doll hair.

Start from the bottom first, and work your way up to the roots of the hair. Don't exert too much pressure on any knots you find, otherwise the plug will come out of the scalp.

Go to any PetSmart or other pet supply store, and go to the grooming section.

It's called a Flea Comb, but don't let that stop you. Get the one with the purple and black handle. It has longer metal teeth than an ordinary comb, and the teeth will NOT break unless you are trying to undo a Gordian knot.

I am a bionic woman fanatic and sorted loads of there hair Comb out without ripping be very gentile then wash with baby shampoo and condition , then get a cup of nearly boiling water and a cup of cold water and put the figure upside down in the sink and run thr hot water over it then the cold this will de frizz the hair, and rinse with the cold this will set it, do this one or two times till your happy then to dry lay figure on a towel and dry hair with cool hair dryer setting and it will be like new
