    Are Megos finally drying up???

When I use go to eBay and punch in MEGO in search...I'd get about 27 to 30 Pages! Now...I get about 8 or 9??? Are We finally nearing the end where Mego's are becoming scarce? I mean...there haven't been any produced since 1982...so it was bound to happen eventually, right?

Ebays drying up. Less items in almost all catagories. They are heading toward a Amazon/Overstock format. They don't want small sellers anymore and have made it real clear. So a lot of sellers have just flat out left. Buyers will follow.

Every time I get on Ebay there are atleast 800 items in Mego. For a company that has been out of business almost 30 years that's pretty darn good!

As Collectors mature, both in their own knowledge and the "level" of their collection, I think more and more private deals are in the works.

That, and as has been said, ebay sucks, and the high fees and hassles drive some smaller dealers to find other avenues of sales.

How difficult would it be for websites, such as this one, to add an online auction feature? I found this online, phpprobid, and it seems like it could do the trick. The revenue generated from the listing fees could go toward covering the cost of running the website.

Not a bad idea ... but I like the way this place works as friends helping friends, and not trying to make a buck off of each other ... I know folks have given me stuff for free and I have done the same when I'm able.

I think an auction feature may hurt the friendly feel of this place

I honestly don't think that would be lost just by adding an auction feature. It would just be a nice alternative to using the classifieds section of the boards.

I agree with you. Even though Auctioning can be cool at times, I don't think it would fit in here.

I do think if the economy stays bad, alot more people will be selling off there collections. Thats good for us and bad for them. I can only imagine how bad it feels when you have to sell stuff you really like. Only time will tell.

Actually, that's from the way eBay is set up now. They've got it now where you get more listings on one page. So it just seems like there are less auctions.

An auction attached to this site would be a very bad idea, And would hurt this site badly in the end by causing hurt feelings, Bidding smeans to bring out the worst in some people. There was a big stink raised over some one bringing to site an MOC SPIDERMAN not listed under MEGO. This is a friendly site with collecters helping other collecter and it should remain as such
