Any MEGO Alien, Predator, Terminator…in the works?

    121E2F97-0FAD-4AEB-BCA2-31D2FD7CBADB.jpg

Still love this place. Still love my buddies here. Still come here every day.

I will always have a place for MEGO in my heart.

Unfortunately, I sold off most of my MEGO collection (I have a few Superman stuff in storage though).

My collection passion ventured and shifted into Alien, Predator, and Terminator. That’s all I collect nowadays.

I collect statues, build up model kits, props, posters, action-figures, 3D print models, custom work, etc.

However, like the title of the thread states…anyone know or think those three franchises might be in the works as MEGO figures?

BECAUSE I WOULD BUY THEM ALL!!!!

If that were to happen, MEGO would once again be part of my display collection.

    All comments welcomed!

    Thank you for reading this.

    Merry Christmas!

I could see Alien being harder since you’d have to do the alien and that would require special tooling. I’ve always wanted a Teminator and especially all the Predator original team. The world screams for a Sonny Landham action figure.

I could see Terminator. Only one that would really work in the format.

I think the others could work too.

Take the Lizard for example. Cloth and tail. The Alien could have a cloth costume simulating ribs and anatomy and have a cloth type material for tail.

Same applies to Predator. Picture old school Gorn.

If Mego tooled up a special Pinocchio, I don't think it is outrageous to imagine them making a special Alien. Not to mention, the Alien franchise has far more human (or human-looking android) characters that people would actually want to buy.

^^ Exactly what I was thinking, in concert with what they did with the Creech, it could be done. Alien is by far the preeminent franchise of those three, and has much staying power forward.

I’d be in for Alien for sure if they could do it.

RAH did an Alien toy that was mostly rubbery molded prosthetics that slipped over a buck not terribly unlike a Mego body that was molded in a semi transparent blue/grey. I think the MAXX FX idea was similar as well. It would certainly be more effort than a typical hero toy or monster, but if Tin Man and Neptunian could be done, I would like to believe that the Alien could as well.

                      Agreed!

NECA makes awesome 6 inch Alien figures. I have many of those. But it would be awesome to have the Mego version, 8 inches of clothed funkiness.

did NECA make a 9 or 10 inch version of the big chap? I thought I remembered something like that within the past 5 or so years. I remember wondering if it would get close to scale with MEGO.

edit - I think it might have been the 40th anniv Ultimate edition? Or is that scaled to their 7" line?

The 40th Anniversary Ultimate Edition is a massive 1/4 scale/22 inches high. Pretty heavy too. Almost like a statue…

Always wanted a Big Chap MEGO. Lucky we got the 4" Super7 Reaction action figure, which I LOVE!
This MAXFX prototype is as close to a MEGO as it will get, for now.

Yeah, I know about that rare never released prototype. $4,554.00, lol.

I want something a “tad” cheaper that’s say MEGO on the card, lol.
