I knew S.T.A.R. Team would be at the top of the list. Rip off or not, the Knight of Darkness still had more playability than Kenner's large Darth Vader did. The latter was just a cheap, blow molded, barely posable figure, while the Knight had tons of articulation and cloth clothing. I loved that figure, "genital head" be damned.

Yep, I had two or three of those on the list. I did like the Knight of Darkness though!

        Hmmmm....

Y'know.... when I was a kid I preferred the generic stuff. Gave me a chance to make up my own characters.

As the one kid who didn't drop super heroes from Star Wars, I missed all of these, but I can appreciate their underhanded charm, and the frickin' hilarious article you wrote!

Haha....that brought back good memories...especially of talking into a fan. I still have a "space case". Good stuff.

As a kid, I would have wanted all of these rip-offs. I had 2 of the Star Team figures and loved them. I forgot all about talking into a fan. I'm so going to do that right now even if it means waking up the wife and kid.

"...they fit in with your regular Star Wars figures in scale, but stood out like psychotic bums at a fancy dinner party."

That's the funniest thing I've read all week!

I received my 1st Space Case for Christmas in 1980. I still have it.

                    Space Balls?

Hey, why not ask the #1 rip off of Star TREK???...that would be Star Wars.
