MOC Kirk arrives with a busted knee!

Last week, I posted a thread regarding my "first mego figures". It was an exciting day because the evening of that same day I won a MOC Unpunched Kirk and Spock for $55.95 shipped insured. What a deal! I've been waiting to receive my figures to share my wonderful find.

I was extremely sad when I open the package and found Captain Kirk with his knee pin off. There were no damages to the FedEx box nor Kirk's packaging. How could that have happen?! One thing though, the seller didn't put much care into packaging the figures. The figures were placed in the box with Kirk at the bottom then crushed some paper for padding and that was it. No bubble wrap or popcorn material. Well, I sent an email to the seller explaining what had happened so I'm waiting for a response. I suppose the only thing I could do is try to get a partial refund for the damaged Kirk. I hope I don't have to send both figures back. Spock is in excellent shape.

Here's a picture of Kirk and Spock. Auction link below

Any thoughts and advise would be appreciated. Thank you!

That sucks... I hope you get some sort of refund. The price dropped a bit with the damage. Good luck..

Stupid Kirks and their stupid knee pins. Sorry, man, it's pretty common.

It really does just happen sometimes. That's pretty weak. Sorry to hear (and see).

I just mailed a MOC Robin to England. Robin is infamous for getting a busted knee while in transit, no matter how it is packaged. I hope it makes it, because he is on an unpunched 77 card.

Oh, I guess I shouldn't feel so bad if it's a pretty common thing to happen with Kirks. Just wish it wasn't mind!

It seems to be Kirk more than the others. I sacrificed one Kirk to do the Museum cards, he'd lost his mintyness in all the posing and then his knee broke. T1K sold me a great replacement and his knee broke just sitting there.

It's strange because I wanted to tell you about my eBay find when I sent my last PM to you regarding the cards received. I decided not to mentioned it until I received the figures so I don't jinx myself. I guess you can't beat fate!

Seems that Kirks and Hulks have this problem all the time. Sorry to see it happen to you.

This is quite common. It is often not the seller's fault. The little jostling in the mail is all the decomposing plastic needed to break.

When it happened to me, I politely let the seller know. They gave me a partial refund.

i cant comment on the kirk knees as i dont know anything about that, but i can 100% confirm that pooh happens in the post... i once sent a misb super powers halls of justice playset to the usa... it arrived stamped on and crushed, the box even had the foot prints on it where they had decided to play football with it, they then had the nerve to deliver it and say it had some problems while in transit... you can imagine it cost me $100 to send it to states, i ended up giving a full refund on that particular loss, i couldnt afford to have it sent back and what for... it was already ruined

but what fault was that of mine? i sent it and hoped the airmail would take good care of it! if i hand delivered it and kicked it myself i could understand

after being in the toy game around 20 years i could tell you a story or 2

I got a torch thats like that. Person told me they were going to check with the post office about it and never got back to me. I guess I have to eat the loss since the other person left me hanging. For $55 shipped, you still did very well.
