I have so many comments to post about the weekend,
but they'll have to wait until work slows down.

    In the meantime,
here are a few pics about trying to bring a toy through security at Ohare
(Did I post these already? I can't remember)

I'd be FREAKIN' out the momnet she grab the box to open it...

...in that kind of situation, could you ask if you could remove it from the box...?

Did she leave it like that when she was done or did you ask her to step away from the box

I've taken toys on the plane with me before but have never had anyone open the box and search it before.

That's awesome, Rob. I can actually see why they'd want to check out that monsterizer. It must've looked mighty suspicious in x-ray!

I bought one of those Sideshow Western figures on a trip--a Billy the Kid--and they wouldn't let me take it on the plane because he was carrying a gun...

Looks like a fantastic weekend, guys. Thanks for sharing.

I was thinking that too. The wires and electronics in the thing must have looked fishy. Those pics are priceless. I hope it made it through ok, that's a great toy.

The TSA guard was cool, I explained what she'd find before she opened it,
and was gently under my watchful gaze. She did say it was among the strangest things she's had to hand inspect. All this effort, and the Monsterizer wasn't even for me. I was bringing it back for a fellow collector.

On the plus side, the item I did buy for myself came through security untouched. I'm proud to add it to my collection, though I was nervous until I safely got it home.

Great pics...thx for sharing...the nearest we get to this over in the U.K. is me and Monkey Tennis having a get together and beer occasionally...
Maybe we could get something going over here for us guys although there arn't anywhere near the amout of Toy fares or shows or even toyshops anymore.

I just got back from my trip (I went onto New York from Chicago), and just seen all the cool pics from last weekend. It was a real pleasure yet again to meet up with the guys. My poor gf Fiona got caught up in all the geekiness but took it on the chin like a trouper! Dan, Kristie, Charlie and Sharon's hospitality is second to none, I hope I can repay the favour one day.

It was great to meet up with Rob, cool pics by the way, that Robin was superb! Also lovely to see Brian, Ben and Angel again, those guys rock (especially Ben and Angel on the Wii)! It was fun to spend a day at the toy show with everyone, I just remembered the run in with the middle aged guy with poodle hair and ear ring on the way. His chin move is making me crack up right now! Lovely to see Mark as well who drove all night to get to Chicago from NYC, I don't know where he gets that energy from! As always, the weekend went way too fast, but I'm sure we'll be getting together again next year, and I for one can't wait!

That robin was the first thing I saw as I ambled out from my (hellish) cab ride, it was like sensory overload, a wonderful piece. I have no desire to own one but i was thinking "daaaaaamn" when I saw it.
