I remember when thatwave hit the States. We had to climb over massive mountains of FF/Thor/Conan figures strewn through the aisles of toy stores whose shelves simply did not have the capacity for all those Megos. In fact, I remember trying to avoid store clerks who would chase you around offering you a Human Torch or Conan for next to nothing. Of course, there was little we could do when we got to our car and they had already filled the vehicle from floor to ceiling with Mego's latest wave of characters. You just had to live with multiple copies of every toy ever released.

    God bless America.

      That was a lie.

I'm just bitter because my friend George always seems to have these the second they were released and I couldn't find them!!!

That probably explains why I got the Batcopter for Christmas one year, it was probably the only Bat vehicle my parents could find at the store!

I found the FF at Rosbergs (RIP) a local department store in downtown Niagara Falls, Ontario that always had a fantastic selection of action figures. It was also the only store where I ever saw the Mego Pirates, I picked up a Long John Silver. Sometime later, I went back to the store to get a Blackbeard and they were all gone, never to be seen again. I'm guessing that the Pirates lasted in Canada about as long as the FF/Thor/Conan wave did.

Kind of strange but neat that they use pictures of Type 1s for the heroes.
