very cool article!! are all the toys yours brian?
Other than the Scottish Guard yes, it made doing the images for this one super easy. My next piece is on celebrity dolls, not so easy.

How often have you been published now? It's seems you grace a magazine at least once a quarter, congrats.
Thanks Rob, I honestly don't know how many times but it looks like I'll be with TR for a while, not always about Mego but I'll keep slipping them in.

Only Guns and fat people? No Deliverance type of joke as well? I'm disappointed. I mean, come on! Everbody knows the US is made up of nothing but obese, gun toting, inbred hill billies.

Before anyone gets testy, I'm just teasing.

It's a good article. Very informative and lots of neat toys.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

The "gun and fat guy" line was written by my editor, Rob, who is as american as deep fried pickles. He often makes my introductions "jazzier".

Where did you get that amazingly clear Scottish guard shot from.....

My personal fav, that didn't make your list, is the non mego French Captain Harlock figure. Very cool figure and very $$$$ loose or boxed. BTW, take a look at the Zorro figure...see anything missing from his hand??? I just thought I'd POINT that out
"When not too many people can see we're all the same
And because of all their tears,
Their eyes can't hope to see
                  The beauty that surrounds them
                  Isn't it a pity".

I thought about Captain Harlock and Captain Future but most of us never heard of the characters especially as kids, so they wouldn't be heart broken at the loss of toys. Should have included the Star Blazers figures though now that I think of it.....

RE Zorro's finger: Yeah it snapped off during the photo shoot which brought me serious joy. I don't know where I'm going to find another impossible to replace Zorro body.

I do love the Ultraman figures. Sadly, I've never owned one. I can't seem to find one whose stitches haven't come loose. What those outfits lack in durability, they more than make up for in coolness.

I'm a HUGE Captain Harlock and I have to agree, though I would have loved to have gotten my hands on one back then, I don't think the US masses would have cared.

I would have bought those in a heart beat as well...those were my 3 biggest Japanese Animation story lines I would follow (Gatchaman, Yamato, & Captain Harlock)...which led into Galaxy Express and Queen Millenia.
