New newsletter this week has a first look at the Atlas Grim Ghost figure, and it looks awesome! And a second Big Bang DC figure-Leonard as GL. Thanks for doing the newsletter, I look forward to it every Friday.

I have no clue about the Atlas characters, but that Grim Ghost is one good looking figure!

Agreed. I never heard of Atlas before this. And I am highly suspicious of the talk of them being in on the ground floor of the next "cinematic universe". But regardless, the figure looks great and the packaging seems very appealing to modern collectors.

(Plus I'm going to assume they borrowed that shirt from Trelane!)

Honestly the whole cinematic universe thing could be hit or miss but getting 70s comic characters in Mego style is the big gain for me at least.

If you want to go beyond DC and Marvel I think the Archie Mighty Crusaders would have had way more mass-market appeal and mainstream recognition than Atlas. The Mighty Crusaders also has 80s toy nostalgia going for them because of the Remco line. Happy for the people that want them. It's just a real head scratcher for me. Will enough Walmart shoppers even know what the heck they are?
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

I'm not going to argue that the Archie characters are underutilized, I agree but the difference here is, the opportunity.

Wal-Mart and Atlas seem to have a long term plan for these characters, Mego was merely brought into this. They'd have been silly to not do this.

The Atlas stuff looks like fun! Hope it is ridiculously successful and leads to other lesser-known projects.

Since Archie Comics' "The Mighty Crusaders" was mentioned above, how about the Archie gang themselves in this figure/comic book set format?

If the head sculpts were good and "retro classic", I'd buy at least the main four! And Sabrina!

                    And yeah, The Crusaders, too!

I noticed the Atlas Grim Ghost stole the Romulan’s boots. I also like the 3-3/4 Aurora Godzilla model kit figure, hopefully they will also release King Kong.

Same. Would add Juggy to my shelf in a millisecond.

EMCE attempted to make Archie characters 10+ years ago, and it got far enough along that prototypes were produced, but management at Archie Comics wouldn’t approve it to go forward.
I’ve heard management at Archie has changed since then so who knows? Maybe it would be worth trying again.

Well, I would buy the core Archie gang and Mighty Crusaders toute-suite if well-produced. Ditto Krofft.

Atlas is quite esoteric but GG looks good.

Well, that's disappointing. Archie merchandise has had a decent representation recently, from bubbleheads to more recent items from Super7, Funko and Mezco's Josie and the Pussycats. I'd love a set of Mego Archies, ever if it's just the Core 5. which is usually as far as it goes (and sometime Core Four without Reggie).

I'm glad to hear they got that far! Seems like the right time to have another go, while Mego is back in full swing and the classic Archie and Mego fans are still "above ground"!

Ghost, if you see this, any chance you worked on that project?
