I definitely appreciate the callback to the Mego 'Dr. Kromedome', intended to be a villain for the Six Million Dollar Man line! But I'm really hoping that White Elephant Toyz will take some significant creative license with his look when they design the actual figure, because the original is, for me personally, not really that inspiring. (To me, the name sounds like an inside joke about a fellow employee's bald head, and his jumpsuit costume looked kind of clown-like. And the cape: yikes. My favorite aspect: the metallic face paint accents.)

EDIT: I just read the Mego Museum page (link below) for this guy. So great! Many details I didn't know.

The prospect of an 8" Dr. Kromedome is exciting. Actually, I'd love it, too if White Elephant would consider doing a 13-inch "conversion" head & costume set so Kenner SMDM collectors (ie, ME) could kitbash a companion figure for the Kenner line using Oscar Goldman & Maskatron parts.

That Golden-Age Sandman figure is great.
WANTED: Dick Grayson SI trousers; gray AJ Mustang horse; vintage RC Batman (Bruce Wayne) head; minty Wolfman tights; mint Black Knight sword; minty Launcelot boots; Lion Rock (pale) Dracula & Mummy heads; Lion Rock Franky squared boots; Wayne Foundation blue furniture; Flash Gordon/Ming (10") unbroken holsters; CHiPs gloved arms; POTA T2 tan body; CTVT/vintage Friar Tuck robes, BBP TZ Burgess Meredith glasses.

              Nice edition!

Excited for more AJ. The photos don’t really look great at the moment, skin tone looks odd and sculpts look soft. FTC’s head sculpt ended up so soft it was basically unrecognizable. NuMego actually had a really nice AJ head sculpt.

As a major AJ fan, there’s something special about his face. It’s distinctive in a weird way and those vintage figures still have a lot of charm. Hope it’s captured in the new ones.

That said the photos themselves look a little blurry/low res so maybe that’s all it is.

              Iron Jaw looks great.

I may have gotten a l'il ambitious with the crappy cell phone photo, I certainly don't like the head scale I messed up, but in my defence, I'm did it on 4 hours sleep. Trust me, these look like fire.

Iron Jaw looks awesome, the only thing I nailed conveying.

My question is are they going to redo the outfits? I used so many of those outfits to extend my original Mego Batman '66.:

I really want more international heads not released in the past..

I mean since I own an original Mego, Zica, NuMego AJ I will buy at least two.

I continue to be completely pre-sold on Action Jose! To me, it looks exactly as it would've had Mego made that figure circa 1973.

That said, as someone from the border town of San Diego, Action Jose looks more like Action Jackson after a two-week vacation in Cancun than an actual Mexican of predominantly indigenous or European descent. But that's how the figure would've been made 50+ years ago. So I'm fine with it!

So, are the AJ figures going to be utilizing type S bodies? Or are those stand ins?

I wanted to add that I also super appreciate the 'behind the scenes' items each week in this awesome newsletter featuring photos of unproduced Mego figures. That's one of my favorite features.

This week, I feel like, to use an old expression, Mego 'dodged a bullet' with the Flash movie figure. I'm probably among a small number of people who both: (1) have a lifelong interest in tabloids/TMZ (so I was well aware, in significant detail, of all of Ezra Miller's various issues in the run-up to the release of the film), and (2) saw the film in the cinema and enjoyed it and was totally able to separate his 'baggage' from the movie itself.

But that would've been, like, the fourth modern Mego Flash figure, representing a box-office failure. Probably best for everyone that it stayed at the prototype stage.

I agree on dodging the bullet with Flash, but it would have been swell to get a Keaton Batman out of the deal.

                                Great newsletter !

I also agree that passing on the Flash figure was a good choice, still would of bought it but...
